Thought this might be relevant here.

The salmon that can't jump! Desperate rescue effort to save fish as low water levels prevent them from swimming upstream to breed.

Quote:They had already travelled 2,000 miles across the North Atlantic and were only days away from their winter spawning grounds.
But instead of leaping their way upstream, low river levels have left around 200 salmon stranded at the bottom of a steep weir for more than three weeks.
If they don’t manage to jump over it, the next generation will be in jeopardy – and there are another 800 fish battling their way up the river behind them.
Weather forecasters warned this week that the drought is likely to continue into next year if there is low rainfall this winter after one of the warmest Novembers for years.
Arid conditions have blighted central and eastern England since June following the lowest rainfall since records began 100 years ago.

RE: Weird weather UK
There is no such thing as weather modification or "geo-engineering". The US Air Force does not have a goal of "owning the weather by 2025". The Rothschild family does not have controlling interest in "Weather Central". Weather is not a traded commodity on The Chicago Mercantile Exchange.........

Nope, everything is "normal"..........

I have seen many articles on the weather changes not only in the UK but in the US also, being do to the changes in the North Atlantic Current, and these changes are due in large part to the BP oil spill. Read up about it, it is very interesting.. doomed

if i remember correctly, the BP oil spill effected the gulf stream, which in turn effects the jet stream which determines weather patterns

RE: Weird weather UK
I don't get it.

You KNOW they mess with the weather. Why so baffled now?

Don't you remember the freak early snow storm in NY in October? Wasn't it a coincidence that a group of protestors refused to leave a public space near Wall Street, and then had their generators and power taken from them, shortly afterwards?

If that doesn't convince you that weather modification (by hook or by crook) is real and in the hands of the so called powers that be, I don't know what will.

Cold summers and warm winters are proof only that the Earth is warming up; someone is trying to slow the process down; they haven't fine tuned the system enough to mimic convincing summers everywhere at the same time. This America was scorched this year while Europe was spared.

They'll offer you a brief cold winter snap in Europe, which will be forgotten within weeks.

And then...

We'll all see something undeniable.

RE: Weird weather UK
Food shortage my arse....

Have you looked on the shelves in Tesco or Sainsbury's lately???

Most of that shit gets imported anyway, so where is the food shortage coming from???? The only possible way we would have a food shortage in this country was if the was a prolonged winter and the ass f*cks at the local authorities forgot to order enough grit for the roads again so the lorries couldn't get through....
Food shortage, yea right, scaremongering more like... Get a grip and go play with your sledge... It's more fun....chuckle

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the socialists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

RE: Weird weather UK
necro post to bring tethys thread back to the living

these threads serve as 'markers' and 'records' of what we lopers see and write about--what will be important observations for our reference when comparing what we call our now against...oh maybe a post from last year describing similar things.

we can see if and how the weather has changed.

i for one think its off its axle and bloody bonkers!

plus this is a good thread

In the end each other is all we have.

RE: Weird weather UK
Weird weather UK, how about the prolonged warm spell from early september through to early jan.

Mostly dry, warm, massively above average temperatures, same as spring early 2011, with cold winter 2010/2011.

And a ratehr below average temperature range across the summer months.

Expecting a turn to a chillier few months, with a very hot first half of summer this year.

This hot spell seems likely judging on patterns to continue through to mid-october before a much cooler airmass takes over and brings in a very harsh winter for the UK around mid-november
