Luvapottamus and barbsat, I understand where you are coming from, but I see dangers ahead from the Republican side of the issues, and where Ron Paul would love to eliminate those needless agencies, we don't KNOW for sure that he would. Like I said, we don't know the candidates personally, so we have to take them at their word(s).
A President is limited in what he can do, no matter the desire, and under the present circumstances, the country being in the great big mess it is, it's doubtful that the working men and woman are going to come off too good.
Ron Paul probably hasn't lifted a shovel in his life, so he would have no understanding of what it's like to lose his job with a wife and kids to support, then lose his home and everything he worked for, nor have to decide whether to buy a gallon of milk or a gallon of gas. All rich people are totally out of touch with the majority of us.
You go ahead and vote for Ron Paul, but I think I'll pass this time around. Last time, I supported him, just not this time. We've been bamboozled enough!
Ron Paul has a long consistant track record. It's easy to figure out what he will do.
He won't do anything outside the powers of the presidency, and that's a HUGE DIFFERENCE from the others.
Obama is an empty suit of platitudes. That's his track record. He sounds good. His presidential track record is W Bush.
Romney is a retard corporatist. That's his track record.
It's a GOOD THING Ron can't eliminate these departments on his own, and he knows that.
It's a bad thing that we have a WHORE CONGRESS that keeps passing Monsanto legislation, etc, and we need to toss them out.
So at least vote to eliminate your shithead congressman if you have one.
The only candidate that has anything resembling a monetary policy besides 'give the banks more bail out money at the expense of the tax payer' is Ron Paul. Ron Paul is advocating cutting out the middle man on our national money supply thus ending the so called 'national debt' by creating an actual constitutional money like we had before the Creature From Jekyll Island reared it's ugly head. Why should the US borrow it's own money from a private bank at interest when it can create it's own?
One thing that Ron can definitely do is bring the troops home from their overseas empire building duties. No more guarding poppy fields in Afghanistan for the CIA. No more protecting oil pipelines in Iraq for Shell/Mobile. No more genocide in other countries for the UN. Straight up national defense only. Protect our own land from invasion instead of doing the invading for spurious reasons such as non existent WMDs that still have not been found all these years later.
Then there is the cutting off of foreign aid at a time when the US can't even afford to feed it's own. Billions yearly to other countries to prop up dictators and thieves when we have massive unemployment here.
Another thing that can be done is a cancellation of certain treaties such as NAFTA and the like that reward large corporations for outsourcing jobs to countries that are in all actuality hostile towards us.
How about making sure that whatever gov agencies that remain after a review of their Constitutionality actually do the job they are intended to do without being co-opted by mega corps? That would be nice wouldn't it? The FDA actually making sure that our food supply is safe without the revolving door with companies such as Monsanto pulling the strings for their own profit margins.
Then there's an executive order cancelling any and all states of emergency that have been declared as well as all previous executive orders that violate Constitutional principles.
