Anyone else here Lindsey Williams on AJ Today.. He Quoted verbatim from a speech given by Ben Bernanke (In 2002 I believe).. Saying if we were ever faced with another depression he would take the Interest rates to 0%.. Guess what the first thing Bernanke did when he was named Fed Chairman ... Hiding3

Would you trust the CME after the MF Global theft?

Nobody else does either. Paper is garbage and MF Global made it obvious.

yes, but wuooldn't that force metals UP????

If you can't get your PM's or any other commodity on demand people start to figure out that the little slip that represents those PM's are useless...hedges are busted and liquidations commence en mass.

Evey action has an equal and opposite reaction.

RE: What is forcing down the Price of Precious Metals ??
like I have said for some time now, banks and governments bought up gold and had high gold and silver holdings, Germany was the largest holder of gold to which its holdings have dropped by a bit. With the Euro struggling and bonds needing bought the financial institutions and governments have been unloading gold and silver to support and prop up the Euro. Supposedly North American malls are to get gold dispensing kiosks in 2012. What that means is there is a lot of metals selling going on. Law of supply and demand says if there are a lot more sellers than buyers prices drop, and that is what we have been seeing.

Yes wars in currency do lead to... this is not a war. They are working in concert for desired outcome imho. I write about precious metals au being linked to it all prior to this event happening. Some are doing all they can to prevent wars. War will happen if tptb decide to stop the music ie currency swaps. Psychonaut  Wrote:

A major storm closed off oil terminals in Norway 2 days ago, the storm was one of the 5th worst to hit the western coastline in 30 years and I would expect has had a bit of a effect on reserves within the Scandinavian & UK region. Just a bit of to-ing and fro-ing of resources to make up for the losses of the past 48hrs.

With mounting fears about the sharp decline in both gold and silver, today King World News interviewed four decade veteran, John Hathaway, the prolific manager of the Tocqueville Gold Fund, to get his take on the situation. When asked about the action in both gold and silver, Hathaway stated, “The action is what you would expect in a thin market like this, the moves are exaggerated. The people that have shorts on, which has been the right trade for the last several months, they are just pushing it to the limit (on the downside) to make their year. Obviously it’s uncomfortable to see this kind of action, but, to some extent, you have to look at the context in which you see it.”

RE: What is forcing down the Price of Precious Metals ??
The "value" of gold never really changes. For instance, the same amount of gold will buy the same amount of oil now as it did ten, twenty, thirty years ago. What changes is how much (fiat) currency is needed for the same transaction. Gold (and other precious metals) is only good as a way to keep your wealth current, it's never been a good investment...untill the last few years. If you bought gold @ 400.00 an ounce and sold @ 1,500, then you more than tripled your investment. Gold has been a play on our(your) fears. In a real SHTF situation, gold will be worthless, you can't eat gold, you can't drink it, you can't breath it or breed it. It's every bit as phony as any other currency, it only has the value that we give it. And who gave gold it's value in the first place? Artisans (or aliens). It has two values(+1) and one downside. It is easily worked, it conducts electricity(,it is untraceable) and it is extremely rare.

RE: What is forcing down the Price of Precious Metals ??
I feel there are a couple of things that are contributing to downtrend in gold.

1.) light trading period this time of year. money is quiet, most bankers are on holiday.
2.) believe it or not, U.S. exports are up and therefore by extension so is it's dollar. when this happens gold will fall. gold is still only a hedge against the dollar.
3.) despite the fact there is a f*ck of a lot of sabre rattling new theaters of war haven't been opened. gold is usually purchased in a response such idiocy.

so relax, gold will ebb and flow. I feel it will go back up and continue on it's upward trend relaxing a bit between 1300 and 1800 for the time being. when the next shit storm comes and we all know it's coming gold is going to take right the f*ck off again. also the U.S. economy isn't exactly all healed up and doing well. it's hard to nurse an economy back from the dead, and this economy still isn't registering a pulse.

My prediction for next year is gold at 2000 and silver at 40. Disclaimer, I could be wrong.

P.S.

Some keeps buying it on the way down surely they don't expect it to stay down.

Happy to be at the end of the world with myself.
