right now i am using these ones
http://www.thehouseofmarley.ca/headphone...hones.html

$349
noise canceling
non tangle cord
microphone for phone / computer
easily replicable cord
12hz to 23kHz
really amazing crisp, full bodied, delicious sound. not true audiophile because of the noise canceling but you dont need an amp or anything . i have them plugged into my phone and i can answer calls with the button on the cord.
they were an upgrade from my senheiser HD 25 II's

Love the earth conscious value to it... thanks for posting!
originally they were actually buy to borrow but i loved them so much i kept them.

malo malo malo malo, wouldn't you?

Klipsch S4. Most comfortable, the cord stays plyable, (don't buy Shure) sound is awesome and they never break. I can go through Skull Candy like mmmmm candy. Last pair lasted one week, but I enjoyed the bass response on them very much. Sad they can't withstand my abuse. Tissue

get the senheiser 25 II's . i abused the shit out of them and listened to them 3-10 hours a day( pretty much) for 2 years. they only broke because i f*cked with their innards. i think they had better sound than skull candies.

Hey! Beat me to it. I had this brand suggested to me by some audiophiles some years back and they are a super sound for the price. I invested in the SR80s, the midrange headphones, all I could afford but I've been more than pleased with them.

I have the SR80s as well Cheers They also make great phono cartridges if you are into vinyl.

Grados are great but they are open backed and so if there's ambient noise you won't get to enjoy them as much. Closed back headphones are better in that regard because they'll block some of the outside noise.

I love my Ultrasones.

Those have been on my list. Lots of good reviews for them, but a bit more pricey, aren't they?

I used them daily at work so I needed to be able to hear people while listening to music. I had the SR60s but a wire came loose in one side from me taking them on and off a zillion times a day and I upgraded to the SR80.

Hi Fi can you imagine listening to music through some of the Professional series like the PS1000? I'd like to experience it.

Now I seldom listen to headphones and they are packed away in my bug-out peripherals. They pack away very nicely.

Take care of your hearing now, so you will be able to still rock when you are old.

I could only image the 1000s sound similar to Tolkien's Ainulindale.
