It doesn't have iodine in it and it's fish friendly. I use it in my freshwater tank to make it oh so tiny lil bitty brackish.

They sell aquarium salt but I'm sure it's the same for 1/10 the price..

Apparently the iodine harms the fishies

Jeez somebody has to step up with a coherent answer for these things. I use it because I like the bigger size, and I use a salt grinder for rock salt.

I also eat kosher, but not the rabbinical kosher. As far as 'koshering' meats God said 'pour the blood on the ground and cover it, do not eat it'. That is all. No ‘thou shalt slather heaps of salt on it and waste good salt’! Since we grow and butcher our own meat I know that one singular command has been carried out sufficiently.

All sounds bad for HBP. I try and avoid it completely.

Just remember when using salts for canning or koshering, to measure my weight, not volume. Kosher salt is much lighter than the same volume of table salt.

kosher salt wears a beanie cap, has a long schnoz, eats a lot of pickled fish, and tells a lot of stale jokes
