Ok I know, creepy and bizarre question. However, my mom has only a few days to live. I am planning her memorial service and will be doing a slideshow of her life. You have to understand that my mom was the life of the party her entire life and loved by everyone. In fact I am going to joke in my speech about her that I know she wasn't ready to go, because there were still so many restaurants left to be kicked out of." Think of a classy Monty Python and that's her. I don't want downer, depressing music, as she would hate that. Nor do I want totally inappropriate music like Green Day's, "ha ha, you're dead," etc. So far I have "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life," from Monty Python, "I've had the time of my life," "Don't worry, be happy," "Simply the best." Would love your suggestions, and please, try to be respectful.

Sir Mix-a-lot's "Buttermilk biscuits"

You will always be one of my favorite people on this board.

My friend Marcus passed back in October from leukemia. One of the songs they played at the funeral was "Ain't No Half Steppin" by Big Daddy Kane. f**ker stole my idea. I guess that's the perks of making it to finish first.

That's interesting timing. Dawn and I were updating our trust documents and we started talking about funeral services. We're both planning on ending up at the University of Arizona Medical School as practice for anatomy students with the pieces cremated and our ashes mixed and dumped in southern Utah.

But I'd already written that my memorial service will be nothing but bluegrass gospel with all the local bluegrass pickers (most of whom I've played with) taking turns up at the front of the church. My old friend Gary will be in charge; afterwards, the party will repair to a park and provide munchies as well as root-beer for the Mormons and regular beer for everyone else.

Fighting ignorance -- one ignoramus at a time.
