Must be some type of "trigger" that initiates their movement, but I don't know what it is.

Temperature, length of daylight?

I live in the northeast and it is 20 degrees tonight. I had seen the same thing about a day before the Virginia quake back in August it was over 100 degrees then.

I have seen several flocks of geese over southern Nevada in November, and saw one big one yesterday. The one yesterday was way high, in a huge v pattern heading south, south west.

It snowed all day and I heard the geese this morning. This year they have departed in different times. Many years ago, the geese were gone by the middle of Nov. I wish them safe journey and away from the hunters.[/align]

Canadian Geese
http://www.ducks.ca/resource/general/wet...e.html#eat

Canada geese usually start migrating south when the ground begins to freeze in the fall. The trip to the wintering grounds is a quick one—scientists have tracked geese that have flown up to 1,000 km in one day!

Of course I'm crazy, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong.” Robert Anton Wilson

They were heading North East?? The only time I ever saw them fly in formation was when they migrated?

its been abnormally warm here in the North East. except for that weird snow storm in October, and unfortunately today its downright chilly, the weather had been in the 50s here in NY

that might have something to do with it
