i remember the name but i was only 8 can't believe she didn't get a 10 for that,
now i watched nadia in 1980
is it just me or was the lympics' better during the cold war?

seemed like life and death
it was also better when they didn't allow nba and nhl players on the team
that 1980 hockey gold was something special
beating the soviets was awesome
even though that wasn't for the gold, that made the olympics for me

the only event I ever cared to watch in the olympics was gymnastics and the figure skating

I agree. Do you remember Katarina Witt, from '84? She was incredible.

Anyway, I lost interest in figure skating during the whole Tonya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan fiasco. It had that feel that so many "reality" TV shows of today have.

Kararina Witt was the best.. haven't been able to get interested in figure skating since then.

Dwight Stones, high jumper in Montreal 1976. Wore a Mickey Mouse t-shirt and caught hell from the crowd because he said he disliked French Canadians. He was kinda overshadowed by a fella named "Jenner".

Then there was this guy....he was everywhere.
