So I've heard of the Georgia Guidestones, and was curious to find out who owns the land the stones were placed on. Turns out they are on land owned by Elbert County, Georgia. The following is the info found on the Elbert County Assessor website:

Anyone else find this interesting, or want to discuss this? It would seem that the local government is supporting the Stones and/or the message on them.....

Just because the property is government owned doesn't mean the local (or any) government supports what the stones say.

The land was freaking bought and donated TO Elbert County, by a man with the same fake freaking name that ordered the stones built.

In any case, I don't see why the podunk county would accept ownership of the land these things are on without somehow condoning the inherently cryptic message found on them. I've read that it could be a tourism motive, but who's to say... Strange is all.

Improvements for tax purposes usually mean a well/septic or tapping in to a muni water supply/sewer. Until that happens, in GA, it's considered Unimproved.

Each time this earth has "reset" itself, those who have survived have been happy to have been one of this number - as have their descendants. If you were only one of 5000 on this planet, 500 million would seem like an enormously large population. Perspective.
