TheSt0rm Wrote:Hamsterfist Wrote:TheSt0rm Wrote:You don't get protein from just greens. Germinated Nuts and seeds have lots of protein. Sprouts of All kinds germinated to the max nutritive potential for foods contain massive amounts of highly digestible protein.
I understand that, but it is a simple fact that meat has a much higher quality of protein and pound for pound a lot more of it. You can "survive" and sustain on your nut protein (ha!), but it will never match the amount produced in meat. It is plain and simple.
Take a look at any high level athletes. You can be a vegan and compete, but you HAVE to take supplements, because the nutrition you are getting is not enough. Numerous studies on this as well.
The best diet is probably MOSTLY made of leafy green vegetables, nuts, berries, raw fruit with a medium to small amount of meat. Avoidance of grains is a must. Again, it is so simple. What the heck did humans eat throughout their lifetimes, before farming? That exact diet.
I read somewhere.. don't have the link sorry but it was on a raw paleo diet forum. One of the biggest. basically, that raw meat may not be what it's cracked up to be. This post on the forum suggested that perhaps one gets ton of energy from raw meat (hormones, pre-digested fats) but it can also end up depleting a person in the long run. Think of "faster heart beats" here, not necessary to have faster heart beats. The sprouted nuts and seeds contain all the precursors to the hormones the body can make. Pre-digested fats also. And most of the protein exists as free amino acids, which is higher in digestibility than even much of the protein found in raw meat that bonded together as protein which then needs to be broken down before it's digested.
Sure, have a little if you want, but if it's long term and you don't know how to really give back to your body what you lost in stimulating your body so much with the raw meats, it can end up depleting you. The eskimos don't live as long as people think.
First of all, you never eat your meat raw. Always SLOW cooked, for best results.
Anyways, this discussion always comes down to this, at least for me.
Do you want to live 70 years as the guy on the right or 100 years as the guy on the left?
Perhaps it is a trade off. You eat moderate amounts of meat, work out and live like superman for 70 years, or you don't and live like a meek mouse for 100. Its a choice, and neither of which is "better".

As for supplementation, if one lived naturally and is clean , no supplementation is needed. As for b12, there was a study I came across which suggests that yes even b12 can be made if one's body was clean, and also by beneficial bacteria present in the soil. Probably fermenting algaes which contain b12 analogues would also help too. Ie, the suggestion was that humans have lost their ability to make their own b12 due to a change in diet, or because they are not healthy and clean enough.
I´ve lived both ways OP.
I´m in pain since serious healthy
Care told me I´m ok because nice apple!, but not sure at all

RE: Who lives the longest, and why?
Lol, it's not a trade off if you can minimize the aging process, and also if possible and i'm sure in the future there will be ways to reverse the aging/regenerate oneself to a high degree such that life can be lived not just longer but with a good quality of long life.

Do you really want to live to be 100 in this f*cked up world?
I know I don't.
Pass the grilled med-rare ribeye, baked potato, and grilled corn on the cob. Amen.
As long as it's grass fed
I hear ya!

I grew up on Iowa beef. Kept a side in the freezer -growing up.
Beef tastes nothing like it use to back in the 70's.
I figure if a "serving" is only the size of a deck of cards - it had better taste good. And I don't eat meat every day. Probably 4 days a week.

RE: Who lives the longest, and why?
bah, whatever. I've made my thoughts known. I've given keys to this forum as to how it can be done. With research, and diligence you can reach the conclusion I've come to. As I said before, the more you aim for whole, raw and natural (doesn't mean you can't process though), you'll see what I'm talking about, it actually becomes easier as it all unfolds, to understand and apply. Not because you're just "intellectualizing" it, but you're further realizing how natural and roots it really is.
Then you'll realize that actually, it's not all that unnatural, or even complicated. What's complicated is undoing the disinformation of it all. humans used to live knowing what was best for them to consume simply by smell taste and touch, before we even put it in our mouth, or had it in our stomachs. This was also most probably in it's raw forms too.

RE: Who lives the longest, and why?
i read a study where they took the longest living populations Hunza, Siberia, and some Japanese island (can't remember).
vigorous activity and lifestyle
lots of exercise -- i mean a lot
low stress
bee pollen and royal jelly
lots of glacier water or spring waters
lots of veggies, fruit, and not much meat (lamb mostly in Siberia and Hunza)
clean air
lots of fish in Japan
Japanese did not have the bee products but they had fish, sea vegetables and whole rice
Siberia and Hunza both had the bee products and great water and millet or other whole grains
they said it seemed to be the lifestyle, and organic food, mineral rich water, clean air, and foods that provided lots of vitamins and key nutrients. royal jelly and unpasteurized honey and bee pollen was a big part of it. homegrown. everything homegrown or gathered or hunted.
got to get back to land in clean places (there are still a few).
also, all groups ran out of food at some point usually in the winter for a about a month and they mostly fasted or ate very little for a month.
a good cleanse helps it seems.

RE: Who lives the longest, and why?
There are non-vegetarians who live a long life, but have all the usual diseases. Vegetarians tend to live longer disease free lives. No sight or hearing loss, and all the usual disease attributed to aging.
