Poll: Who would live in a moneyless collective village/city
I'd be one of the first 100
I'd move if 100-1000 lived there
If 1000-10000 came
If 10000+ came
Never

Kash... I have some serious issues with the type of things you post.

And I am wondering just one thing?

You could go RIGHT NOW... And live on a commune, and live the lifestyle that you want to live.

Why do you think that you are anyone else has the right to force others to live that lifestyle?

Most of the communes are groups of people living together in a single community... i was looking more toward a place where everybody had their own individual houses, tents or whatever, and didnt have to share everything, and that production and distribution was carried out without the use of currency

Why collective? We aint bees or ants you know.

Why cant I live in a moneyless country and roam about, maybe settle down with and have a family and grow my own food?

Why are you stating it has to be a collective villiage?

I abstain.

Because alot of people dont want to live by themselves. And large groups of people do have an advantage of being able to grow food easier

google law of the few if you are really serious about what you speak of. the capacity for humans to work together in harmony id greatly diminished after a group surpasses 150 members. it has to do with the size of our neocortexes. malcolm gladwell wrote about it extensively in The Tipping Point.

I don't see why not. As long as I still had my own personal rights. You could have a completely Constitutional yet moneyless barter society right here in America without being considered communist, or even socialist.

But see if you have followed Kash's other threads... He has this dream of collective living, where people are forced to put in, in order to receive the handouts from those that run the collectives.

Which is communist/socialist

while i don't believe in a forced society., i think it's foolish to dismiss the benefits of certain aspects of "socialism" and labeling them as communist=bad bad bad.

we need to modify our language around such things if we ever hope to evolve past our sticking points.

Marxist theory contends that socialism is just a transitional stage on the road to communism.

"Lest we be 'terrified by our adversaries,' it is well to remember that Satan’s power is not inherent but permitted (Romans 13:1). It is not unlimited, but controlled (Job 1:12; 2:6). It is not invincible, but broken (Luke 11:21-11). It is not assured of success, but is surely doomed "(Revelation 20:2-3)

That's what George Orwell called Newspeak. How timely and relevant.

what orwell described and what i am suggesting are 180 degrees apart.

You do not have to explain yourself, rational people know you were not implying what the partisan derpers claim you were implying.

And you are right, individual issues should be taken on their own merit and not simply defaulted to "that is commie".

Right now. Today

Give it about 20-30 more years of living and then you might have a clue on what works and what doesn't.
It's been said before and bears repeating again...the only reason you hate money is because YOU DON'T HAVE ANY.
And you are a vandal and thief to boot!
If someone handed you a million dollar bank account you'd have so much bling and driving around looking all cool in your fancy wheels and living it up so quick and you'd shut up real quick about the evils of money and be struttin' around like all the other playas.

i think if somebody gave me a million id get alot of tents or temporary buildings and build this moneyless city i want to

Yeah, I don't agree with that, Communism I mean. Basically that's what we already have today. A Federal Reserve Collective, where a few powerful people set the "value" of everything. Obviously that system does not work.

Which will fail because you cannot get any land with an allodial title (i.e. there cannot be any tax lien on it) so you would require money to be able to keep your land.

Look at that, I just saved you a ton of time and money!

No. Im not telling you to live without it. Maybe someday you'll have no choice if currency is replaced as the global system, im sure if that happens youll realize how much freer you are without it

Civilization itself is a socialist construct. Having a cave-wife who will pick the ticks out of your back hair is socialism.

The idea is to ensure that cooperation does not impose on personal liberty.
