If we both chose a different candidate, it would nullify our votes. Two votes are better than none.

Yeah, I know what ya mean. When I found out my next door neighbor was voting for Obama in the last election, I tried persuading him otherwise, but he didn't budge. I was gonna vote for McCain, but I really didn't see much point in doing so after that. Much to my chagrin, I ended up just voting for Obama. I mean, I HAD too. I didn't want to "nullify" our votes.

sigh...

I see the point of your post, and to an extent you're right... but!

In the case of Obama vs. McCain, I just have to ask..... McCain?!!??!

OMG, after 8 years of Bush II ???? Seriously ??? McCain?!?!?!?

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Besides, he was and remains nothing more than a twisted evil old RINO, a genuine piss-pot and a Washington yes-man.

At least with Obama there was the CHANCE of a change, or a fresh start and some new blood at the helm, which is why I voted for him.

Unfortunately, like I said he was just the OTHER chosen figure-head for who or what ever it is that really runs this country.

And in my case at least, I'm DONE assisting them... TPTB for want of another term, in perpetuating this farce.

Bush, Obama, Romney, McCain... are ALL the SAME!

Stay home and tell the system to go F itself instead.

i completely agree with your last few statements about the state of the system. i didn't vote for either party in the last election because of that. i didn't care for McCain or Obama. however, you must have misunderstood the intent of my message. it was actually bleating sarcasm directed at Average Housewife's posts a few days earlier.

RE: Why I have never voted
I don't vote because I'm not in possession of a Divine Right to rule any other human being. I have no capacity for authority over others to confer through a vote. It would be immoral for me to impose with violence my opinions upon others. It would be immoral for me to send an agent on my behalf to do the same.

The violence and injustice of the State against voters in a democracy is not a wrong to be redressed by the Universe. The voter simply becomes the object of the same violence that had been directed against others at the ballot box. It is justice.

The ballot box is not outside the box.
