When you can get aviation oxygen without one. It's the same gas, but aviation oxygen has a low humidity so there is no freezing of the lines.

Under the heat of an alien sun .....

so you would have to pay doctors to write you the prescription? more money for doctors?

wasnt there a short lived fad quite a few years ago, oxygen bars. where people go and breathe pure oxygen from tubes? anyone can go and breath oxygen without any prescription.

I think you will find in most cases that the prescription for O2 is so insurance will pay for it.

Most insurance don't pay for "over the counter" medication.

Because too much oxygen can actually trick the brain into believing the body doesn't need to breathe, and cause respiratory failure. Especially in patients suffering with sleep apnea. It causes something called central apneas, that originate in the brain, instead of Obstructive Apneas, which are an obstruction to the airway

Didn't know that about oxygen, thanks for posting.

If society fell apart, we - the people would build a new one. Most people are good at their core, and when we see things that are wrong we work to fix them together. Make friends with your neighbors, get involved with your community - because we will rebuild our lives, our communities, from horrible circumstances we always will.

This.

I'm still on 02 and apparently will be for life now (only at night and PRN now though)... I think that surgical pneumonia must be quite a bit different then regular, I dont know... Anyway, my $3000 machine and 4 emergency tubes are all paid for by insurance and wouldnt be without the script. Im on one or two other medicines that can be baught OTC, but because I HAVE to have them and I have a script insurance pays..
