Correct.. It is a Big Business...I used to take wedding Pictures.. I saw a lot about the Cost of Everything ..(Which is Outrageous).. The Poor newlyweds got screwed even before they went on the Honeymoon...

Just how symbolic does that go? If it has the backing of the Deity, then it's a sacrament...which means the symbol is so identified with the reality, that it's the Face of that reality.
I treat it like the title to my life has been given to God, and He owns me, lock stock and barrel, and I try to treat it accordingly.

The symbology of marriage is that we are one person...what we nourish is a symbyosis...so we are responsible for each others benefit, not for ourselves.
The sacrament of marriage confers the symbol of two people committed to each other's welfare into a reality of one unit.

...but...I could be wrong...I've only been married once, and for 34 years...
