Im something like a religitard myself but i cant accept the constant animal sacrifces that the OT says is required and the MASS MURDER the Isreal committed seems to be supported by the Bible.
Not to mention the fact that it basically says youll be tortured forever if you dont believe but then it says that God loves you. I question it sometimes.
Maybe those parts were written by governments at that time for control

I guess it doesnt actually say that explicitly, but thats what most evangelicals have been wanting everbody to believe. Like the poster above you said, it fits into their plan to keep the sheep in line

Because maybe they are just stories. With morals and ethics beyond the apparent 'details' of the story. There is no archeological evidence for the hebrews 'conquering' the holy land. There actually was famine in caanan, people actually migrated to egypt and actually migrated back yes, but no evidence of wholesale slaughter or any of the like.

The Romans were pagan and never used the Bible. The Jews were pharasees and lost in other books -- or they would have known their Messiah -- and Constantine (321 AD) only authorized a conon of what was already in use.
