IOW try and take an ubuntu binary and run it on a system that hasn't been compiled against selinux... you will get selinux library errors.

facepalm

Yet how many versions have you paid them to spy on you with now?

This was brought up during trial runs of Memphis, aka Win98 - 15 years ago ...

Going to stop using it anytime soon? Hiding

Someday...

lol

That's how I feel when I try to browse an "unknown" SD card using Win 7....
It takes FOREVER for WIN 7 to scan and catalog all the files before it will let you browse them.

The fact of the matter is most sheople use windows. Therefor this is a valid "conspiracy" that some need to be aware of. It's not like this one particular surveillance port is common knowledge.

No, I have that port blocked (thus the firewall logs). Technically I could write a snort rule to capture the packet content- but that's for somebody else to do.

I've considered it.

I use adblock, ghostery, and Betterprivacy addons for Firefox which seem to work well enough.

I would say blow MS to the wind...

I put Linux on my system a few days ago - I'm no computer wiz and have still had very few problems converting, compared to win and IE based shit, it's different but no more complicated...

I have it as dual boot so the Win only software I need can be run under Win (until I find alternate Free software for linux that does the same) but I do not have internet connection through MS any more...

Some of the major Win only software can be run through WINE on the Linux platform...

Will take you about an hour or two to download UBUNTU to a flash drive - install it as a second OS option and play around to see if you like it...

Easy to delete if you decide to stick with MS!

You may have thought of this and have reasons against it - just my 2p!

HeartflowersHeartflowers

Linux in a dual-boot option is actually not easy to delete. Specifically, the boot loader.

New users should experiment with different distros booting only from a disc or flash drive.

Then, once u are sure your gonna like it and use it, install it in a dual boot.

Even tho I'm a big fan of Linux, sometimes I wonder if MS doesn't get a bad rap on the open ports thing.

Win7 has many services that phone home on the reg (i think over 50).

Plus, think of all the 3rd party win apps that phone home constantly......who is to say exactly what info is being exchanged ???

Not to mention firewalls and AV software that also monitors you're every move and sends all kinds of tracking info to the provider.

AND, it isn't just MS.

Apple is just as bad...........

plenty of evidence that Apple is actually worse on many fronts.
