Windows backdoor on destination TCP port 1935.
Almost a months worth of logs. As you can see, there's not that many "hits" as compared to some of the other backdoors. As it is outbound in nature (and IS a legitimate "service") it is NOT blocked by 99.9% of the firewalls out there.

Code:

Of course there is a "red-herring" involved to try and make you think it's not government surveillance... so that you won't question it any further or to allay any doubts (and to have an "excuse" for firewalls to allow it)...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_Time_M...g_Protocol
http://isc.sans.edu/port.html?port=1935&...=N&days=40
Quote:This port has been assigned by IANA to former Macromedia (now Adobe Systems) for the Flash Communication Server. By default, Adobe Flash Media Server uses port 1935 for RTMP (Real-Time Messaging Protocol). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_Time_M...g_Protocol http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewCont...;sliceId=2

But look carefully at the IP's and IP RANGES involved. There's really no doubt (at least for me) that it is a government computer surveillance mechanism.

Level 3 and Akamai Technologies are the two largest players in the various government's computer surveillance programs (well, besides google anyways).

Also, I watch flash movies EVERY DAY, if it were really adobe flash I would have far more "hits" than what I actually do.

Also, I can prove that it occurs in the middle of the night when flash is not being used (I'm asleep) or when I first enable my network card (and no browser has been opened yet). That pretty much cinches the fact that it is NOT legitimate flash.

You know when you start to type a web address & IE will automatically guess the site you want to visit by your past history....Now try to delete in Explorer the websites you visited.....Popcorn Won't happen good luck

I wanted to document it... well because nobody else has.

Also I wanted to stress that I don't have adobe updater running in either
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
or RunOnce and the same with HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and also not in my services.

LSO (Flash Cookies) ?

---
Never expire

Can store up to 100 KB of information compared to a text cookie’s 4 KB.

Internet browsers are not aware of those cookies.

LSO’s usually cannot be removed by browsers.

Using Flash they can access and store highly specific personal and technical information (system, user name, files,…).

Can send the stored information to the appropriate server, without user’s permission.

Flash applications do not need to be visible.

There is no easy way to tell which flash-cookie sites are tracking you.

Shared folders allow cross-browser tracking – LSO’s work in every flash-enabled application

No user-friendly way to manage LSO’s, in fact it’s incredible cumbersome.

Many domains and tracking companies make extensive use of flash-cookies

Couple questions
Is this the only computer on your network?
Do you run any type of permissions based firewall?
Have you traced the IP's?

Level 3 is an internet backbone.

Linux firewall (duh!). BTW, even back when the backdoor was on UDP port 1025, I used to see L3 and Akamai on a consistent basis. From what I can tell/count there is about 8 computer surveillance mechanisms- this is just ONE of them. Akamai and L3 play a big part in MOST of them.

RE: Windows backdoor on destination TCP port 1935.
I would say blow MS to the wind...

I put Linux on my system a few days ago - I'm no computer wiz and have still had very few problems converting, compared to win and IE based shit, it's different but no more complicated...

I have it as dual boot so the Win only software I need can be run under Win (until I find alternate Free software for linux that does the same) but I do not have internet connection through MS any more...

Some of the major Win only software can be run through WINE on the Linux platform...

Will take you about an hour or two to download UBUNTU to a flash drive - install it as a second OS option and play around to see if you like it...

Easy to delete if you decide to stick with MS!

You may have thought of this and have reasons against it - just my 2p!

You know Ubuntu has SELINUX which is more NSA spy crap.

What makes you say selinux is NSA spy crap?
I don't think it installs by default in Ubuntu btw.

http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/hard...nux.8.html

It's still built into EACH and EVERY binary BTW and does have the requisite libraries thereof (whether or not it is "enabled")
