Here is a recap of some of the things discussed on earlier pages for those visiting here:
Good thread! Let me take the opportunity to say a prayer here!
Mighty Lord! Blessed King! All Mighty Majesty! You who are hidden and manifest! Glorius Master! You are the one who sustains reality! You alone have all the power! All glory belongs to you my master! All knowledge belongs to you Magnificient Controller of everything!
Please always protect me and assist me my master, and save me from harm! Only you can save me from harm, only you have all the power, only you have the ability to protect! Only you can help!

There is no God other than you alone! There is nothing with any power besides you!
You have provided information about yourself throughout human history! Some knew you as Amun the Hidden One, others as Shangdi who is above all sovereigns the highest and ultimate, Some knew you as Brahman the creator in which all things are manifested, or Rahman the bestower of blessings, or Shiva the auspicious, kind, and gracious one, or Vishnu the sustainer and maintainer, or Allah the one most powerful. All the best titles belong to you master, everything belongs to you master!
You are in the likeness of nothing, no form or knowledge can encompass you, yet you encompass all things, and are complete in your knowledge of everything!
None can oppose you mightiest master El Shaddai! You are the Destroyer, full of mercy and patience! You are the one who relents and forgives again and again! Kindest master! You are unstoppable!

The judgment is always yours alone master! You are the singular sovereign! There is no authority besides yours! All the power is with you! Whatever you decide is what happens! If you change your decision, none can withhold the change!
You are the one who has provided all technology and information to mankind, and you are the one who bestows gifts, food to mankind. If you bring harm upon anyone, none can stop you, and if you bring good upon anyone, none can take it away besides you!
You are the one and only! Known to the Zoroastrians of old as Ahura Mazda the Wisest Lord, and known to others as the Great Spirit who pervades everything. You are singular, there is none like you! You are the ultimate in every way. You are the omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient!
Everything surrends to you, and none can resist you. You are the self sufficient, and all are dependent on you every moment!
Master! Please save me from being misguided! Please never let me turn away from you! Please always keep me grateful to you! Thank you for everything master! Your gifts are the best gifts! It is you alone who provides happiness! It is you alone who can bring sadness! Please spare me from all harm and punishments master!
Blessed King to whom all matters return! You alone decide anything, and anything you decide happens! For you, it is merely a matter of making it "Be" and it is, and everything is easy for you!
It is to you that all things return, and it is you alone who can return all things! It is you alone who created us, and you alone who can bring us back to life after we die if you choose to, whenever you choose to! It is you alone who provides us existence, shelter, and support, and it is you alone who can give us a new home and a place of peace! Blessed King!
It was from you that all things originated! The ancient Greeks may have called you "Chaos" the state from which the first things were manifested! Glory be to you alone! You are the point of origination, and the final destination! Without you, nothing can exist or move!
You are the creator of everything! You even created the thoughts we can think, the systems which support them, the framework of reality, and you are ultimately operating everything! Thank you master for all your gifts!
Thank you for the sight you've given me, the hearing, the ability to speak! You can take these things away in an instant, but please spare me from losing the beautiful gifts you have bestowed upon me!
Forgive me for all my errors master! You have all the power! You alone can forgive and protect! Please forgive me for falling short in any way of doing what is best!
It is you alone who listens to the supplication and prayers of those who believe in you, and those who don't! It is you alone who hears and sees everything from every angle and perspective! It is you alone who can answer any call or plea from your supplicants, and even those who do not acknowledge you! You are surrounding everything, within and without all things! You are always nearest and never far!
You are the creator of everything! You alone were never created! You are not a human being or any other creature! Any representation is misleading, you are in the image of nothing! If there was not a thing in existence, there would only be you alone! You alone are able to create needing nothing!
You have no father, you have no children, you are far beyond the things which you create, nothing matches you my master, though it is you who provides information about yourself!
You everywhere absolutely! There is no place where you are not! All praise to you! There is nothing at all like you master! Ruler of all the worlds, galaxies, universes, and realities! Nothing exists outside of you, and you are infinite, unending! Limitless and without any boundaries!

Please give me paradise in the afterlife, and bless me with the most blessings in this life! Please spare me from hardship and harm! You alone can protect me! Please accept my prayers and infinite thanks to you!
It is you alone who created me, who invented who I am if anything at all! Thank you master for creating me, bringing me into existence, supporting my existence, and thinking of me in the first place, and continuing to bestow upon me constant gifts of food and mercy among the infinite gifts which you bestow! You are boundless in your bounty mightiest King! All gifts belong to you! Everything is provided by you alone!
Please keep me rightly guided master! Please protect me from going astray! Thank you for everything! Please return me to worshipping you regularly!

(Then I pray a more controversial one to try to make an important point)
I'll pray another one!
Master of destruction! Lord of Chaos! Giver of disease! Bringer of pain!
It is you alone who allows some to stray, while guiding others!

If you do bring harm, none can remove it save you! Thank you for creating medicines, doctors, and other things which benefit us! You are the balancer!
Thank you for healing me whenever I've been sick!
Anything you decide for us, is what is! Blessed King, Controller of all diseases, please spare me from any diseases! Master of all emotion! Please spare me from any harmful intentions from anyone or anything! Please keep my life filled with happiness, peace and ease! Please make happiness, peace, ease, beauty and beneficial bounty surround me everywhere! You are the all powerful master of everything, creator, originator, activator, animator of everything! Please shower me with all your blessings and all the best, and never take away any of the good and beauty you bestow upon me, and give me all the best always in this life and in the afterlife and always!
__________
Lets say a prayer:
My God! You are the only power! You are the master of everything. You are the controller of all motions and emotions! You blow the wind, scattering seeds and life wherever you choose, you alone are the bringer of the harvest, provider of all food and care to those who depend on you always!
It is you who spreads fertility in the world! It is you who makes things barren, and from that state, can easily bring them back to life!
It is you who controls the force and speed of everything.
You control all processes of all things on all levels!
You control the sun and the moon, the orbits and the stars. You form the galactic clouds, and you can bring them all to an end in an instant.
It is you alone who expands this universe, and it is you alone who can collapse it and expand it again!
You created this planet with ease, and never did you tire or feel fatigue. Nothing tires you, all mighty master, nothing is hard for you!
You are the provider of the air we breath! The space we live in! You are the master of all households, the ruler of Earth and all that exists within it and beyond it!
All the loftiest praise belongs to you alone, who causes things to grow, and makes things to die!
All glory belongs to you alone Majesty! You who makes the thunder clap, and the flash of lightning.
Everything is in constant praise of you! You are the only creator, the bringer of storms, the maker of rains! You can bring life to anything and anywhere you want.
Thank you for absolutely everything you have provided always, and you alone provide everything always!
Thank you for the shelter you've provided, and the place of our existence. Please always protect me with the most protection and help me with the most help!
Please always keep me in appreciation of all your glorious attributes my master!
Never let me fall to ingratitude or turn away from you and your praise in the least!
Please keep harm far away from me always! Please always provide the best for me always!
You are the greatest! Infinite praise belongs to you alone!
__________
(Then someone asked about the controversial seeming honorific titles used in the second prayer)
TX PATRIOT Wrote:FreedomS, allow me to preface this post by saying that I really like you, and I really do not mean disrespect.
But, I must inquire: if you step outside of your emotion-driven paradigm for just one brief second and take a view from a position of logic, does the above even sound sane to you?
Based on your 'teachings', are you really worshiping the "Lord of chaos," "the master of destruction" and the "bringer of pain"?
(I know I will live to regret this inquiry.
)
Wow! Thank you for asking such a nice, thoughtful question!
I don't mean to sound like I'm making anything difficult but, what teachings are we talking about?
I understand that second prayer was radical sounding, but I wanted both prayers to kind of make some points that I thought were important for people to understand.
The main reason was probably to show that in monotheism there shouldn't be dualism, with two opposing forces, good vs evil in perpetual battle.
I wanted to show the idea (which is confirmed by all religious scriptures in their earliest forms, especially the vedas, the ancient world religions such as Egyptian and Akkadian religion, the scriptures of the Bible such as Isaiah, and the Qur'an, as well as ancient Chinese religion practiced in Early Han China) that an all powerful God holds all the power of fortune and misfortune. Later, developments occurred which personified misfortune as demons, and then as the act of demons in many religions while only goodness was reserved for God. I think this is a dangerous belief, and really just starts a whole line of confusion and a polytheism of numerous warring powers.
To simplify things, I think it is best to say God controls everything absolutely and has complete power. God has all the power to execute whatever God wants without question, and can define things in any way also. So the idea of good and evil become kind of arbitrary in an ultimate sense, since God can be considered entirely evil from our current perspective but still have all the power to bring us good or harm, so the only option would be to try to ask for the good and avoid the harm.
It doesn't matter to me if it isn't really true that God has all the power or not. I think it is the most beneficial belief and brings most personal peace to realize or think that there is an all powerful sustainer maintaining, controlling, and animating reality alone. It simplifies spiritual appeals to one source, it denies the powers of demons and other such things over our fortune, and also takes away the pressure of feeling like we are ultimately responsible for the functions of the universe that seem clearly out of our control.
The other options are:
Thinking we are in control of all things with our mind. Here, great stress comes upon us for worrying about what we think, our "negative" thoughts having "negative" influence on the world, and even worrying about things that we didn't think or some beliefs we didn't even really have but blaming ourselves for everything.
Thinking we ourselves and others are all in control "co-creating" which creates the problem of other people's thoughts causing problems. This makes it a great concern that other people are thinking negative things, and causes a partial loss of control that creates great stress as well. The only version in which this is best is in a literal sense of actually working together but still knowing that if anything doesn't happen it is because of God ultimately.
Thinking there is a system of absolute "karma" and feeling that we can't escape the automatic "punishments" or recompense. Included is also the idea that there is "reincarnation" where our past as someone else is to be blamed for the misfortune happening to us.
Thinking that God is just neutral or doesn't interfere and the forces of evil are left to do whatever they want, and we have to actually work to combat them or convince them not to be evil. In that case the forces of evil should to be appeased since they seem to have the real power.
I mean none of the other options seem as good to me as believing that God alone holds all power and authority over all things. That God alone brings all harm and fortune. To seek the fortune and avoid the harm. That if the harm happens not to really think it is punishment but rather know that there is at least the option of asking God for relief, rather than thinking an uncontrollable demon is inflicting it. Basically it makes a person realize their state of utter surrender to reality, that things are not really in our control at all, that even our prayers might not be answered (though I really think they seem to be for many people), but that what happens in the world or what bad things aren't really in our control and all these things are from God ultimately for whatever reason.
I mean it doesn't matter to me if it is true or not, because I don't believe there is any way of knowing what is and what isn't with certainty. I do believe that it is the most beneficial and least risky belief system.
The belief system of not believing in an ultimate and all powerful God is riskier than believing in one. The belief system of believing in numerous powers is complicated and riskier seeming than believing in just one ultimate all powerful all encompassing sustainer and animator of reality.
What are the risks? Well by believing in one ultimate God, the most religious systems are fulfilled, leading to the most potential benefit according to the most systems. If none of this is true, and we die forever, then all we did was live doing good things hoping for the best from God. But if the promises of many religions are true, then our belief and devotion to God will benefit us later too, while atheism would lead us to a life with an incomplete seeming explanation and a possible afterlife with dire consequences from the perspectives of many potentially true religions.
___________
Who created diseases and supports their existence in reality? Who decides who becomes diseased and who gets healed? Who created destructive things and operates them ultimately? Who brings the storms and selects who they specifically affect and how?
I say God alone does all these things, God alone has all the power over all these things, and no one else controls the operation or animation of such things, and everything is the creation of God, even the thoughts we think originally had to be created by God, supported in existence by God, and their operation and activity animated by God.
Will you say there is another power besides God who controls the the powers which you don't want to associate with God? Then why wouldn't the favor of the destructive God be sought out as well?
But God is one alone, controlling all misfortune and harm, and all goodness and blessings.
__________
(Then I received a very kind reply!)
TX PATRIOT Wrote:No, no.....I must thank you for such an eloquent and well-written explanation of your beliefs and intent. Admittedly, I did not expect such a rational response to what struck my soul as an irrational prayer.
And while I do not personally agree with all you have presented, there are definite points worthy of thought. Thanks, FS.
Thank you so much! You are so kind! Your response really made me feel great! I really appreciate it! It has made me so happy! It made my day! Thank you!
Yeah, I understand how calling God those things might seem like an insult, blasphemy, or extremely controversial, but I actually think they aren't really that, and the greater blasphemy from a strictly monotheistic stance at least would be to say that God doesn't control everything, or that God doesn't have all the power, or that God only controls our fortune while some other force controls our harm.
Thank you so much for reading what I wrote! I'm so happy that you're willing to give it some consideration and thought at least.
I apologize deeply if I've ever said anything insulting towards God, that is never my intention really, but I did want to make those radical statements to make a point since too many people believe in dualistic ideas that I don't feel really benefit them or do justice to God or reality. Rather they seem to empower concepts that oppose God (which is impossible in the system I'm presenting). Many people consider Satan some kind of Lord of Chaos and evil, when I consider him just a powerless liar, who has no power over our harm or benefit, but just tells us different lies, especially the old lie which is still present in the world which is that we are Gods or can be Gods, when in truth that brings great pressure on a person and also doesn't seem true and is especially disturbing when we find that we don't actually have control over things or anything at all in many senses.
So I'd never say there is any other power other than God alone, even if it isn't really true even, because I don't even feel it can be known with total certainty but only believed at most.
______________
(Someone asked if I worship Satan)
Wow! I'm so happy to see that you signed up for a full account here! I loved seeing your name in blue! You make great posts, I really enjoy them!
I don't worship Satan. The reason I made those radical statements was to show people that God controls everything, and Satan doesn't have any power at all. People make Satan out to be some kind of evil God opposing God the Good. This happened to Zoroastrianism also that divided good and evil between God and the great celestial serpent Angra Mainyu who controlled all evil and misfortune. Zoroastrianism was purely monotheistic in its earliest form, but later fell to dualism in order to explain "the problem of evil" which is what it is called in western theology.
__________
I guess I should mention that I don't really think that the prayers of other people work on behalf of people who don't pray themselves, but they might, I just don't feel like if someone else asks for someone elses forgiveness who doesn't themselves ask or want to ask for forgiveness that it won't really do anything, but ultimately God decides who to forgive and what requests to manifest.
__________
That completely throws out the possibility of "black magic" or anything else (in my belief system), because nobody has any power at all to control anything for anyone or even themselves ultimately.
I completely reject all the new age ideas that are commonly promoted and accepted, and I'm thrilled by the radical nature of such a rejection.
I deny the existence of "negative and positive" thoughts and energies.
I've practiced utterly negative thinking towards myself and have only seen good things come from it, and it bringing great happiness to expose my fears and state them and think about them.
The idea of thoughts having power is very dangerous to a person's wellbeing and happiness I feel, because it brings an underlying anxiety, a fear of what you might think or what that thought might bring to you, running from negativity or shunning it and in constant fear of fear itself.
I think fear is a real thing that people can feel, and that it isn't a bad thing to feel, and it is worth acknowledging as well.
We're brought into life with no guaranteed way to escape with results we can be sure about, leaving us with only the option to do the best we can in this life and prepare for the possibility of an afterlife as best we can by fulfilling most of the good seeming ideas that have been echoed as warnings throughout history through the religions for the most part.
Its a gamble always, but we'll be making the best bet we can if we pay attention to the possible risks and all that and try to reduce the most risks without gaining many.
It is totally peace inducing, for me at least, to feel or believe that God alone has all the power, and controls everything. It is also somehow peace inducing for me to feel or believe that I'm completely in a state of utter surrender before God and God's power. Something really relaxes me about that, as compared to feeling there are numerous forces vying for control or that I myself am responsible for harms that seem out of my control.
__________
(Siahaya then said a prayer which had some components I wanted to point out by way of caution)
Siahaya Wrote:O Lord, nourish me not with Love, but with the need for Love.
Hollow me out, then fill me up according to your will,
So that I can glimpse your Glory, if only for an instant,
May my heart be a clean mirror, may I reflect your Light in all directions.
That sounds and looks like a prayer to me!
Some of the things in this thread in the way they were worded didn't even really seem like prayers at all.
Oh, I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to write a version of your prayer!
Lord of the Worlds and Everything seen and unseen, Master of light and darkness, giver of knowledge and surrender.
Please always love me with the most love, and nourish me with your love, and make love and joy and all goodness surround me always in this life, the afterlife, and forever and always.
Never allow me to turn away from gratefulness to you and appreciation of you and your beautiful gifts! You are the best and only bestower of all good. You alone know what is good for me and what is best for me, please bestow upon me all the best things, and all the good things always.
Please always save me from harm. Please keep me behaving in such a way that pleases you and gains me favor. Make me and keep me aware of all your blessings and glory master! Please cleanse me and my heart, and keep me clean always in every way. Please fill me with all your light, knowledge, and beauty, and make me to shine with all your light, knowledge, and beauty.
Bring peace upon me and keep peace surrounding me always. Save me from ignorance and denial of you. You my master, are the truth, the reality. It is you alone who controls all things. You make whoever you will to shine, and you bring darkness upon any you wish to. For you, everything is easy. You can cleanse a heart in an instant, forgive a crime in a moment, and raise anyone you wish from a state of degredation. Blessed King, All mighty Sovereign, Lord of the supreme dominion! Encompasser of all! It is you alone who are always near to everything. It is you alone who is fully aware. Fill me with the awareness of you in a way that benefits me the best, and benefits all those I interact with. Allow me to express what is best always, and save me from doing anything harmful, and spare me from all harm and malice. You alone control everything. Please forgive me for any of my mistakes. Please always bless me with the most blessings and keep me among the best of those who depend upon you always. Spare me from any terrible losses, pain, and hardships! You are the controller of all experience! You are the bringing of ease and the only that force in existence!
Thank you for the light you create that allows us to see, and the darkness you create that can bring us peace. Please save me from uncleanliness and harm. Please save me from ignorance and denial of you, most majestic king! Singular sovereign of everything! Thank you for everything. All praise and glory belongs to you alone, and you alone bring good and you alone can bring harm. Spare me from any harm, and bless me with the most good. You are the mightiest, the wisest, the kindest, the most bountiful and giving. The giver of blessings, the controller of all results.
_______
(I explain the meaning of prayer here, since I noticed that people don't seem to know how to)
I wonder if people don't know what a prayer is that they keep making statements about themselves as if they are supposed to be a prayer. I usually think that prayer means asking for something and I include lots of praises as well.
The online dictionary at
http://www.dictionary.com defines prayer as "a devout petition to god" and "a spiritual communion with God, as in supplication, thanksgiving, adoration, or confession.
"a petition; entreaty"
With the word history listed as:
"prayer
c.1300, from O.Fr. preiere , from V.L. *precaria , noun use of L. precaria , fem. of adj. precarius "obtained by prayer," from precari"
supplication seems to mean:
to pray humbly; make humble and earnest entreaty or petition.
entreaty means:
earnest request
petition means:
a request made for something desired, especially a respectful or humble request, as to a superior or to one of those in authority.
So can you please say a prayer here?
___________
(Finally, someone said a prayer I thought was really awesome)
The Lucky AC Wrote:Thank you, God, for giving us Life.
Thank you for giving us Dark,
so that we may learn lessons needed to improve our Soul and
to remind us when we are in the Light
to appreciate it even more.
Thank you for giving us Light,
so that we may experience happiness and joy and
to remind us when we are in the Dark
that the Light will soon follow.
Please protect and Love us All.

THIS WAS GREAT! SOMEONE WHO REALLY GRASPED THE CONCEPTS PRESENTED IN THIS THREAD! I WAS THRILLED BY THIS EXCELLENT PRAYER!
Please feel free to sign up to LOP so I can private message you! Thank you for this excellent prayer! I'm so glad you posted it and thought of things like that! Really great job! Thank you so much!
______
Would anyone else like to write a prayer?
Please keep in mind that prayer is generally a plea, appeal, or request to what you believe holds the power to answer such a prayer, or could possibly.
Prayers can also include forms of worship such as praise and glorification of the power being prayed to.
Prayers are generally thought to be most effective when said with personal humility, just as you might ask a superior or a king for something without demanding it as if you're the sovereign yourself, this would especially be dangerous in the court of a King, and I think that the appeals to powers can be done in a manner that one might approach a King with all dignity and respect and high praise.
I think prayer is useful even if you don't believe in any power that can answer your prayers as long as you accept the possibility that perchance there is such a power, so you pray to the one who has all the power if there is such a one, but of course if there was such a one to say "if there is such a one" might be disrespectful.
In ancient traditions from around the world, God was approached with humility, dignity, cleanliness, and deep respect. They would bow down and prostrate themselves in many ancient cultures around the world just as muslims continue to do today after they ritually purify themselves.
These actions are to show humility, surrender, and express complete respect towards God who was believed and is believed to hold all power related to any fortune or misfortune that comes upon everyone.
You can see lots of ancient art to see how worship was performed throughout ancient times, it generally stays the same, with bowing, and prostrating on knees and hands.
Of course one could say God doesn't or shouldn't need such things, but it isn't about God who needs nothing, so much as us who are completely dependent and in constant need. The act of surrender is an expression of the realization that we have no power, knowledge, or control over anything ultimately, but the ultimate power does, and so we bow down and prostrate both to show respect but also to express the realization of the ultimate truth.
But that is worship. Worship often includes prayers which are appeals in order to at least attempt to secure some benefits for ourselves.

LoP Guest Wrote:Well if you go to India,Well if you go to America,Well if you go to China,Well if you go to Japan,Well if you go to Egypt. You will get many prayers to different gods. But don't the prayers reach the same Conciousness no matter the gods?
What different Gods are you talking about?
If someone defines "A" one way and "B" the same, then how are "A" and "B" more than just different letters representing the same thing?
The names of Gods are usually just descriptive terms for God.
Shiva isn't a name so much as an honorary title of praise and an attribute, meaning auspicious one, for example.
Amun, from the ancient Egyptian religion means something like "hidden one".
These are all qualities of God.
God is the God of the oceans.
God is the God of the sky and deep space (heavens).
God is the God of the Earth and the ground.
God is the God of all creatures.
God is the God of the harvest.
God is the God of wealth and fortune.
God is the God of misery and death.
God is the God of everything.
Hinduism is thought by some or many to be monotheistic ultimately, with the variety of Gods being attributes to the one God. At a time Egyptian religion may have been understood like this, with Amun being the God to which all the netjer were attributes and descriptive qualities. If Greek and Roman religion is going to be taken metaphorically, this is also the case, and all polytheistic religions can be interpreted as metaphors for all the qualities of the one God.
I think that it can confuse and may have confused many people to create descriptive humanized imagery in relation to these descriptive attributes, but ancient priests probably understood these as symbolic rather than literal, as many Brahman priests do today in India.
In Han China, they worshipped Shangdi meaning Above Sovereign, monotheistically, and only later other celestials were added, each representing an attribute of Shangdi's power.
This happened with Zoroastrianism as well, and one could even go so far as to say that it happened with Christianity, where the mind, body, and spirit were seperated into a trinity.
But I believe God is one, and not a human being or any creation, is in the image of nothing, made of no materials, but all materials exist within God who can also completely make them nothing. God encompasses all knowledge, but no knowledge or information or form can encompass God the infinite, so only descriptive attributes can be named.
The Zoroastrians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, and Sihks among others have created lists of attributes of God, that are all generally the same. You can look at the meaning of the names of various Gods from polytheistic religions or their attributes or areas and control and realize that each area is controlled by the one God and that these are just metaphors for God's areas of control and attributes.
