RE: You can Add, Subtract, Multiply, and Divide Zero
Division by zero fails.
0 / 5 = 0
5 / 0 = 0
But does 0 x 0 = 5 ?
No. It is not possible to divide by zero.

You are still welcome to use the information, or ignore it.. but the time is short to "do something" with it, by one such as yourself..

How is it not? If not zero, what is five divided by zero?

Zero is not a number so anything divided by zero is unaffected. Nothing from nothing leaves nothing.

Well it was supposed to be humor but that sure didn't work out well now did it?

Zero is a number. It is the absence of quantity.

Apparently, you did not download the .swf file and view it's contents in your web browser..
Yes you can..
I solved for the problem.
It has been turned into a Quantified process (made to do work)
You can add, subtract, multiply, and divide zero, while at the same moment "Remaining zero" in lesser archaic mathematical symbolisms..
Not only that, you get to build a nifty "physical model" with real world products, to see it happen before you, in complete logarithmic format...
But you have to download the file to understand it...

How can zero be a number when it holds no quantity. There's nothing there.

Pi Wrote:LoP Guest Wrote:Nahh there are only two operations in mathematics addition and multiplication
Actually, there are "five" altogether...
Addition, Subtraction, multiplication, division, and "equal" (yes equal is an operator..)
So wrong. Subtraction is simply the addition of a negative number 7-5 = 2 and 7+(-5) = 2
As well division is simply multiplication of an inverse or 5/10 = 2 or 5*(1/10) = 2
And = is a symbol describing a relationship like =/= or >= or < not an operation
YOU FAIL

RE: You can Add, Subtract, Multiply, and Divide Zero
a number divided by zero approaches, but never equals, infinity; it is called an irrational expression and cannot be defined, or quantified.

Thinking like an accountant Buster...
To an "accountant" or "Bean counter", who is so myopic, and incapable of realizing that the very tool (zero) itself, is truly "not a number", but a place mat for cycles of 1-9.. unless of course you are telling me you can use zero at all in it's original form before I solved for it?...
Tell you what, here is a book that will help you relieve some of the myopia you are suffering from (BTW, I do mean that in a nice way, because it really is not your fault that the tools you use are so flawed in the first place)
Book is called: Zero "The Biography of a Dangerous Idea"
Published in 2000 by the Penguin Group, and written by: Charles Seife..
Will go a long way in changing your outlook, when you realize it's history..
It is (or was/is) not a number, but instead a "symbol"..

You can deny it all you want (such is the value of free will), and I can make each operator do magic myself, as they are all associative to each other, but they are "separate" from each other (opposite sides of the coin as it were)..
You really hate to think differently huh?..
BTW you are using an Infix model, yet forget this is a prefix model of operations, and completely ignored the postfix operation altogether..
They are separate form each other in application, thus making them "operations" or operators individually...
Where is your critical thinking?...
download the file (obviously you haven't)

Actually "it can"...
And on that note, I've already solved for Infinity, thus making it Quantified or QI (for short)..
But that is not this threads intention, nor will I respond to questions over QI in this thread, as this thread is for QZ only...
