the very same products found in most food stores are at a far more reduced price than the regular food stores..... produce is far cheaper and of far better quality... there is organic food for sale at prices far less than the fufu healthy food store....i shop at walmart and i eat well and so i see that wally mart is the best store because i can buy my favorite products at a far better savings than the rest of the stores in my community.....i like wally mart....and when on the road i can park my rig over night and i am not bothered....i like wally mart!!! I got no complaint about the Superwalmarts grocery. I left for Publix the other morning too early and wound up going to Walmart when they opened the doors (thats the only way to shop there IMO). I was pleasantly surprised to find many of the brands I didn't expect to find, and several boutique products as well at much much better prices than the local supermarket. $200 later..... LOL

This is not an endorsement of Walmart of their business practices. But going grocery shopping these days is like Mortal Kombat. And Walmart had a number of items I needed that were 1/2 the price of the same item at Publix. So f*ck yeah!

What is a "boutique product"?

Specialty products you wouldn't expect to find like Caribbean or Indian stuff, hot sauces, coffees, hell I even saw some pasta sauces for $7 a jar. So basically IMO Walmart is not where you go for generic stuff anymore. That was a prior opinion I had but it looks like they are moving up the scale in order to challenge the shopping habits of a good many consumers.

Hell I even bought 3 bottles of Toluca Habanero sauce the other day and you cant find that retail anywhere.

This is a very good example of a boutique product.

Well like I said, I wont waste my time trying to defend Walmart's business model, but likewise I don't know how you can defend that statement either V. Its just not true, in fact we had a thread the other day debunking "Walmart's electronics are shit quality" or something to that effect.

I wouldnt go down there to buy a suit, but that wont prevent me from buying a dozen Titleists down there either. I mean are they shit because I bought them from Walmart?

blah blah blab ... what do you think prices will be like at Walmart when all the local competition goes out of business?

After all the competition is eliminated the prices will go up under a total monopoly.

Guard towers and total control over who can/not buy. Papers please!

It won't matter when they run ALL of the local competition out and then Jack up the prices when you have no where else to choose from.

Boutique will be gone ...Local Mom and Pop will be gone..

Then you will be completely at their mercy.

Just took back one of the $5 blenders *made in China*. Would not blend even potatoes! The five speed power selector only worked at one speed. The switch was useless.

So i traded for the Black & Decker $20 Made in Mexico and it works like a champ. US brand made in Mexico, which will keep the Mexicans working and staying in Mexico the way i figure it.

They sell good target ammo cheap, plus their worms for fishing are huge, and a good price. Plus I buy Motorcraft oils, and filters there for my Ford autos. My local mechanic doesn't use motorcraft, but he installs it for me on the cheap.
