Not a wally world fan either but I like to play their price matching game. Supermarkets run loss leaders every week so instead of shopping all the local stores, I get it all in one trip at walmart.

Example: Avocados are on sale for 39 cents at Aldi and they're 83 cents at walmart. Simply tell the WM cashier the sale price and you'll get them for 39 cents. Their policy states having the ad is not necessary BUT some cashiers act like it's coming out of their own paycheck so proof is always a good thing.

When it comes to buying machines (DIY, electronics etc.) I always remember that "What cheap is expensive". How come? you mite ask.

Instead of spending (as in your case) $5 for crap one and then make a right choice you didn`t save as much as they told you in store but in fact you made a loss.
You spend $25 instead of $20. You could not only save $5 but also in stress you could avoid, time that you could spend with family or something adequate.
To buy B & G you had to spend additional $ on "special offer" priced Gasoline, waste time in traffic (hopefully not Heartflowers

) with others which were going to buy $5 dollar blenders.
You made a loss of around $10 on $5 blender. That doesn`t sound like a bargain now isn`t?
Learn the lesson and be more wise with money. Knowledge is power. It`ll repay in no time. Plus you give your 2 cents for keeping jobs and businesses runing which you explained in your post.
Think local - Make a difference (sound like commercial now chuckle

I don't like Walmart, but sometimes I have no choice...closest grocery store is Walmart and it is 25 minutes away. I do go to Whole Foods when I have to go to Little Rock, which is nearly an hour away. It is unfortunate, and I am not thrilled about it, but that is life.

There is an exception for you Boonie Beauties!... Fire up the Ford ma, we're going to town... Reminds me of where I lived in PA many years ago... We used to say you needed to be in the house by 4:30 because they started rolling up the sidewalks at 5:00...
