Seeing NK as stupid is a mistake, they are not. They currently run a different type of show than the rest of the world, but they are well aware, and are most likely well connected. We might see them as poor, but there are plenty of money for special type of pockets.
No, they're stupid.

I had a dream years ago where I was in Korea (north or south wasn't made evident) when I saw a mushroom cloud. All I know was I was with the people
I dismissed it as feedback from the tv (when I used to keep news on around the clock until I got rid of tv and MSM) that my mind picked up on while I slept but now I'm not so sure...

RE: **breaking**whats going on here...is north korean serious, this threat is bizarre...
TENSIONS OVER disputed areas in the South China Sea continued to intensify at the weekend as China warned the United States that its joint naval exercise in the region has raised the risk of armed confrontation.
China has territorial disputes with practically everyone in the region about the South China Sea, including the Philippines, Vietnam, Brunei, Malaysia and Taiwan, and defence experts believe that the next conflict in the region will probably relate to one or other of these issues.
Recent weeks have seen a maritime standoff between the Philippines and China in disputed sovereign seas near the Scarborough Shoal, west of a former US navy base at Subic Bay.
An article in the Liberation Army Daily warned that the standoff could turn into full-on conflict and said it was largely the fault of the US, which has been staging joint military exercises in the region with the Philippine navy. China refers to the area as Huangyan Island, and says it is “an inherent part of China’s territory”.
Earlier this month, American and Filipino troops launched two weeks of annual naval drills around the Philippines. The editorial said the exercises would lead “towards military confrontation and resolution through armed force”.
“Through this kind of meddling and intervention, the United States will only stir up the entire South China Sea situation towards increasing chaos, and this will inevitably have a massive impact on regional peace and stability,” said the commentary. The paper is the official mouthpiece of China’s People’s Liberation Army.
What defence analysts detect in the region are several potential flashpoints, with China at the centre. “What we see is an arms race among Southeast Asian nations looking at China. There is a perceived threat there, in countries like Vietnam and the Philippines,” said one defence analyst, who asked to remain anonymous.

North Korea is not the least bit stupid.
Could stupid people build a nuclear weapon with all their own technology and no outside help?
They have issued rhetorical threats against the government of the south to their own people pretty much every day since the current Regime in the south took power.
This isn't anything new at all. It's all part of how NK keeps control over their own people. They are made to be afraid. Their poe whittle weedership is under attack! They are like Rats! We will destroy the insulting puppets!
Just like you see in all the other media in the world.

the chinese military is as secretive, if not more secretive than any military power in existance...
we were all just distracted by a failed nk launch... with media from all over the world invited...
there are huge highly controvertial military menuevers going on right now in that area
hmmmm.... all is not well in denmark !!

Anything translated by the South or Reuters is suspect. There has been countless examples of mistranslation. Which is really propaganda because you can't consistently mistranslate like that. I showed one here at LOP just a few days ago.

This is unusual because its coming from their TV. Usually they misquote what is printed at their news site.

The rhetoric of Rat-Like traitors has been going on for a week.
I have not seen another translation of this yet. One may not become available. But SK has not been bombed yet so its very, very likely to be more rhetoric.
Remember who the audience is. This was for local consumption in NK.

NK has more guns than any other nation in the world. More even than America.
