yes and the people who live by the literal translation of this story have no answer, but if you look at it from a mystic approach all it is talking about is when you make your offering to the the god within in you, meaning your time in meditation you leave all your imperfections aside and approach the kingdom of heaven as a clean newborn child,

with a child like wonder and understanding,

noahs ark is the same way, gathering the two creatures of the earth is the aspects of the duality of your lower and upper mind

the things that creepest on the ground are your carnal thoughts and the birds that soar in the sky are the spiritual aspects of your consciousness and so on

you gather all these things together in the ark and take them good and bad through the stormy seas of our emotional nature, and the more the waters rise and try to destroy you if you stay in meditation on god what happens is you are safely brought to rest on the holy mountain, which is the higher mind, or consciousness,

yet people are still looking for a physical boat

you can not understand the scriptures that way, it just doesn't work

The word translated there as "Evil" means chaos, do you're own research, I don't really see what the OPs point is.
Yes God does cause bad things to happen in certain circumstances if that's that your point is.

Yep. If someone worships something that didn't create everything and isn't aware of everything and doesn't control everything, then they worship something lesser than the Ultimate Power.

Right, as in he causes some to prosper and some to not prosper. He brings reward to some and creates calamity for the ones asking for it.

Yeah, I define "evil" as "harm" and "good" as "benefit" so that people don't get mixed up too much!

Evil is whatever harms, good is whatever benefit. A spider catching a fly...it is "good" for the spider as in "beneficial" and "evil" for the fly to which it is "harmful". For living things, harm and benefit is constantly happening!
