True Story...

You know how it is when you turn 19. You want your own space. I went apartment hunting, and found this beautiful apartment in a newly renovated Civil War House. Spiral staircase, the floors were hardwood and there was a fireplace. Stunning two story place with a veranda.

The rental agent said I could look around as long as I wanted, and she was going to wait on the porch for the other people who were coming to see the apartment.

I went upstairs, and looked around, and decided I would take it.

As I came down the stairs, there was a young soldier at the foot of the stairs. He was dressed in a Confederate uniform. I think the color is referred to as "dove gray." He tipped his hat, and said "mam." Then he vanished.

As I came out on the porch the agent took one look at my face and said " you saw him too?" I nodded and she replied, "I guess you won't be taking the apartment?" I didn't say a word to her - just left.

It was so real and scared the hell out of me.
