A church is like a business.

Excellent post, OP, but "LIKE a business"??

"Church" IS a business...and one of the largest enterprises in the world.

Insert pastor, priest, parson, minister, reverend, cleric: "Give yo money to God but send it to my mailing address." Jhikpghf

Lol yeah well.. Marion Ohio used to be a little power house of industry with dozens of factories.. now the biggest employers there are churches, there are over 100 of them.
delusion is a growth industry

true conversions are very rare. I think this thread is a good example of same.

Ever wonder why Buddhists and Muslims don't pollute forums with their shtick?

Maybe they know better.

The way the outspoken "christians" speak against unbelievers is further proof that ya'll have no concept at all on what Jesus was about. Personal attacks, harassing, crap flooding the forum, all in his name. You people suck.

Ever wonder why there are certain people that can never be converted to your weird belief system no matter how many insults or threats to their eternal soul you level at them? Ever wonder why it is so hard to convince certain people about certain things.. Gosh could it be they've spent considerable time thinking about these things and have a strong position, right or wrong, about them?

Energy spent trying to proselytize to infidels is ultimately wasted unless their mind is in a state of change. It could be they are in a personal crisis and they need some new comforting piece of information they didn't have or accept before. If you are a furniture salesmen do you think you will have much of an audience selling life insurance to someone that just wants a chair? You do not pick the time to convert the infidel the infidel does.

You will not be winning souls for insert your deity here if you continually present your faith as a gathering of thin skinned jackasses complaining that every argument against your fruity belief system constitutes persecution. Grow up already! Be a man or woman and accept that if people are laughing at you then you should not talk so much about your funny beliefs.

A church is like a business. It is the right place and offers the right times for conversion services. The internet is not church nor will it ever be.

I'm not saying it is wrong to talk about religion but what are you trying to accomplish honestly by talking about it?

That is all.

You're proselytizing a false religion. You are not god.

It isn't impossible to proselytize on the internet but doing it on a forum (especially this one) isn't going to work well.

I'll play devils advocate chuckle (wait wha??) and say that if you really did want to convert people to your religion make a website and spend some good quality time figuring out search engine marketing. Get to know about your conversion rate (yes indeed there is a language you will understand).

Join a church and get involved in their web development efforts. Pick up a book on search engine marketing and learn to catch people in the middle of asking a question. The keyword phrase "is there a god" will get you 14 hits for about $14. Come'on you can afford it!

chuckle

if i'm going hog hunting....i go to where the hog are at

create a forum? yeah , that's gonna work....i come to lop because thats where the largest concentration of godless heatherns hang out....it's easy to get peoples attention here....just use the correct words......like lighting a firecracker

christians aren't supposed to fight?( to and earier post).....you wrong on that count....we are supposed to fight harder than anybody, to seek and save.

RE: proselytizing for dummies
So true.
There was a time when our local nut-house Ballamona, now known as Cronk Greniagh allowed any church to come in and exploit the fact that the people in there were desperate for one reason or another.

About 15 years ago I was waiting at the main bus station when a couple of Mormons asked me which bus to ballacrackers ( the official term used by the civil service, I kid you not!!!), so I pointed out a bus going to Ramsey and told them to change when they got there for Jurby. This was as far away from the quasi joke of a mental hospital as you could get on the island.
I happily waved them off as the bus pulled out of the station.Jptdknpa

this is where most of the successes of religious conversion come from,
as i pointed out last night, you must be humbled and your spirit broken and have run out of all answers within, then you look without

You started this thread as an excuse to hurl insults at Christians. You inserted insults at every opportunity under the guise of making a point. If it isn't a bait thread, I'd like a mod to define bait thread for me.
A lot of spiritual belief systems are presented and discussed here. Do you refer to all of them as fruity? Should everyone here accept your determination as to what constitutes a "fruity" belief system?
Have you always been this full of yourself?
