So i'd been chatting with her online, we met 3 weekends ago and after a few hours of hanging out she goes "I have a dark secret, i smoke cigarettes". She smoked a few in front of me. No biggie I guess. We smoked a couple hitters and had fun. The next weekend we went out again and drank. Suddenly shes enthralled in the world of chain smoking. Lighting up a new menthol cigarette every 10-12 minutes. It was pure insanity. Every cig I smelled, gross. I am very antitobacco.

So she asks me on Wednesday if I wanted to get together Saturday night(tonight). I innored her message and contemplated. Every time I thought of her I envisioned her blowing menthol smoke out of her mouth and naively holding that cancer stick in her hand as if it could never harm her.

I messaged her back Thursday night spilling my guts saying tht I couldnt date a smoker because im dating for marriage not for recreation and I couldnt envision a smoker having my kids. She was appalled. She sent back "how dare you critisize me you dont see me critiqing you". I said back that smoking is not conductive to a good pregnancy. She came back "oh dont tell me youre gonna give me that smoking while pregnant bullshyt speech now". I was serious. Im 30 and shes 24, these are the years of pregnancy. I have every right to confront a potential partner about their vices and the potential for those vices to harm my future kids.

She felt attacked because I finally caved in and spilled the beans that im not happy that shes a chain smoker. Smoking is vile, only a brainwashed naive bum of a person would smoke cigarettes. Its one thing for a man to smoke a pipe once a day or a rich man to whip out a fat cigar after a huge financial victory but its a whole nother ballgame when women whip out that cigarette once every hour to feed their nasty addiction. I told her that I want strong babies not low birth weight babies. Her response back was "i was a low birth weight baby and im fine now". Ya sure weight wise bu look at you, you're a smoker.

Fyck this shyt, Im not gonna date a smoker. I dont give a shyt. Smoking is disgusting. You smell horrible and you have no reason to smoke and it doesnt do anything for you. It doesnt get you high, its worthless. There is no value in smoking a cigarette. At least with cannabis you get high for 3 hours. Huge value in cannabis.

She attacked me saying "you smoke pot youre a loser". Smoking pot doesnt make someone a loser. It smells amazing and it doesnt cause addiction and its benefits highly outweigh it's negatives. Meanwhile tobacco proves time and time again to not have any benefits. The shyt wont even get you high, fyck tobacco and fyck that bytch

Pot smells amazing? Are you crazy it stinks too! And many people do think that pot smokers are as big of losers as ciggerette smokers both vile habits get over your self.

I think you are being a bit hard on OP. To a non-smoker, smoking in their 'air-space' is a big issue.

The fact that he enjoys a spliff doesn't make him a hypocrite, the dynamics are very different.

Since smoking weed does kill ambition somewhat, it could be argued that it is a loser's game but ambition is overrated and often very destructive.

Not hard on him for not wanting to be with a smoker as that is perfectly understandable. I don't want someone with dentures. You may not someone who is short, tall, fat, thin, etc. I think he's being a moron for discussing making babies with her after a few days. I understand that he's shopping for a wife/mother but dang, that's just weird.

Like many smoking mothers, I quit when I was pregnant.
