#1 meaningfull coincidence - in a Celestine Prophecy context, if ur familiar with that book.

#2 living in a way that is fullfilling, whatever that means to you, and some would say staying true to yourself and not altering just to fit in with others.

language is kinda fuzzy in conveying the latter... it's relative to the observer/ person describing it.

Depending upon how you're interpreting your synchronicities they could actually be pointing toward the understanding that it's time to change your 'path'.

For instance, say you're working a job that you've had for awhile and you're beginning to wonder if perhaps you shouldn't be doing something else. You don't really like what you're doing anymore but it is a 'job' and 'jobs' are hard to come by. Besides that, you make okay money at it and it's paying the bills just fine. Still, all the same, you're wondering if there isn't something else you could be doing.

So you're wondering if you shouldn't be doing something else, wondering if life is going to show you a sign or something to help you figure out if you should continue on your current path or perhaps abandon it and cast everything to the wind and start a new one.

Then, out of the blue, you run into a character who says they have a way for you to make a living selling signs. You asked for a sign and you get one - literally.

So the sychronicity perhaps isn't there to show you you are the correct path, but to help you find another.

The question is, in that situation, would you listen to the synchronicity and drop what you're doing for a new path, or would you dismiss it as mere coincidence?

Well, here is what I think about that... 'They' will tell you that one of the first rules is this: There are no such thing as coincidences. Now, whether or not that may be the actual truth, we have to accept that 'they' believe that it is true, or it wouldn't be up there at rule number one. Right...? Right.

With that in mind, how seriously should I view the wonderful/horrible little ironies and serendipities that appear in my own life? If there were such a thing as 'road markers' or 'signs,' what do you suppose they would look like, anyway? Probably a lot like serendipity, I bet...

Little 'love notes,' kind of. If you choose to look at it that way... and I do.

btw I voted yes as well I've had it happen to me a lot mostly in the sense of seeing something repeated a bit of knowledge echoed through different sources. Sometimes even a chance to fundamentally expand my understanding is presented. It's why I believe there is a positive external force call it god or manifest destiny....

It's not affected, at all. I was just saying that I HOPE it's true, because I do pay attention to and use synchronicities, which happen a LOT to me, as guidance in making decisions, especially when it's something I've actually asked for guidance on, for exactly the reasons you stated. Heartflowers

Yes and I voted before I even stared reading the thread. There are just too many things that happen that can not just be explained by "coincidence". I have many friends that talk to me all the time and we talk about these synchs happening. I equate it to the universe speaking to me.

I bought a copy of The I Ching Or Book Of Changes last weekend.
I have used tarot for many years.
This edition is the Wilhelm/Baynes edition which is the one Jung wrote the foreward to. One thing he said is this:
"In the exploration of the unconscious we come upon very strange things, from which a rationalist turns away with horror, claiming afterward that he did not see anything."

There was a synchronicity in picking up the book a few days after getting it (not having cast any coins or "using" the I Ching for a fortune) and just decided to randomly read something from it. I had randomly turned to page 256 and immediately read this: "The first of the Commentaries is called T'uan Chuan. Actually, t'uan means the boars head offered at sacrifices; by reason of similarity of sound, the word took on the additional meaning of 'decision'."

Just 3 or 4 minutes earlier, I had sent a text to a friend with an emoji icon available on my cell phone which I then just randomly picked and sent, for no good reason.
The icon was a boars head.

That does not really fit my definition of the "right path"

The "right path" IMO is common sense. It is that which society thrives upon. Cooperation, harmony, peace, things that propogate the species to survive and live on, since that is what we were really meant to do.

To call the "right" path, something that is a selfish motive, IMO, is not the correct way..

You may be on a "path" and you may think its the "right" path, but if it does not conform with harmony, it is not truly the "right" path.
