from this: (the regular site I check daily for over two years):

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/r...es_all.php

to this:

I don't like change!!

I don't want it!!

I guess it's not quite as bad as the NICT going off line but...

it has not been updated, so you must use the new site effective immediately

guess maybe you guys all use the http://quakes.globalincidentmap.com/ site instead?

I liked the nice list they had - scrolling for a whole week's worth of earthquakes to compare...

I know what you mean. I, too do not like their changes from:
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqscanv/
to
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map/

I can't see the magnitude down to 1.0 like I could on the original page, and its the little bitty stuff and their pattern that tells a tale.

I wrote to them and complained but they seemed surprised and said they made the changes because so many asked for it.

Yup, saw that. That map sucks & it doesn't scroll right on the list below it on my iPad. S977

If enough people express their concerns maybe they will leave it as is?

If society fell apart, we - the people would build a new one. Most people are good at their core, and when we see things that are wrong we work to fix them together. Make friends with your neighbors, get involved with your community - because we will rebuild our lives, our communities, from horrible circumstances we always will.

I'm not a fan of this at all... there was nothing wrong with the previous format and it was very user friendly.

I also don't like how they are making this change during the heightened activity here in So Cal.

Speak for yourself. All I do is keep an eye on a potentially volatile patterns in my part of the state. It's not a particularly active part of CA but it does lay close to many sleeping volcanoes, there is evidence of old volcanic activity close to my home and there has been a decided uptick of activity I haven't seen since I started watching USGS in '96.
