and most people are 'good' thats why they keep us in a state of cognitive dissonance - well guess what, tptb have no conflictions in what they believe in and who they pray too, worship and serve.

----

cognitive dissonance is a discomfort caused by holding conflicting cognitions (e.g., ideas, beliefs, values, emotional reactions) simultaneously. In a state of dissonance, people may feel surprise, dread, guilt, anger, or embarrassment.[1] The theory of cognitive dissonance in social psychology proposes that people have a motivational drive to reduce dissonance by altering existing cognitions, adding new ones to create a consistent belief system, or alternatively by reducing the importance of any one of the dissonant elements.[1] An example of this would be the conflict between wanting to smoke and knowing that smoking is unhealthy; a person may try to change their feelings about the odds that they will actually suffer the consequences, or they might add the consonant element that the smoking is worth short term benefits. A general view of cognitive dissonance is when one is biased towards a certain decision even though other factors favour an alternative.[2]

I am not "good".

I am not "evil".

Frankly, I know good does not exist. Just..."less evil". Even the nicest guy in the world stomps on crickets, roaches, or ants. While that's an obtuse example it's the easiest proof that good does not exist. Everyone leaves a path of destruction behind them, some just have 10 miles behind them others have 10 million miles.

Finally, your "salvation" from these supposedly "evil" individuals can only come from someone "evil" or at least "not good". That's the logical fallacy...in order to destroy evil, God (or mankind or whatever) needs supposedly evil men because good men would never do it (because they are "good"). Once you do bad deeds you cease to be good.

im not talking about stomping on crickets, lol, you are obviously a smart individual but if someone kills and rapes your kids and wife in front of you, which has happened btw, that is some evil shit and those people deserv to be locked away.

No, not everyone stamps on crickets.
Sorry, but I do not see the difference in the worth of the life of a cricket or the worth of my life.
Hiding

In fact, the smaller and more innefectual in my world the life, the more I feel the need to do to protect it.
Is this a product of cognative dissonance?

I don't stomp on crickets either. But for mosquitos, I swat to kill.

Ah, mosquito's is a difficult one. I have been known to catch them and put them outside, but the best deterent I have yet found is threats. I tell them about the electic chinese zapper death gun in the drawer and they succumb to the fear and piss off.
Insects have an interesting communication system, it resonates with mine :)
