stars this is an extremely interesting concept, what if christianity was highjacked ....
Part 1 of this show is about "dhamma" and all religions. Part 2 gets interesting....
after the bible was written, the christian movement was growing leaps and bounds, the romans tried everything to stop the movement, persicuting christians, feeding them to lions, but the movement didnt stop, it didnt even slow down.
eventually christianity even started to grow in the roman army.
after 300+ years of peresecution, constantine, the roman leader, realized that they could not be beaten, he took the bible and ADDED AND DELETED whatever he deemed fit, he basically rewrote alot of the meaning in the bible, then made it the official religion of rome, hence... ROMAN CATHOLIC was born.
about a year ago i watched this presentation on youtube about this entire transposition, i could never find it since, i just did ....
the theory was this......
after 300 years of attempting to destroy the christian movement, constantine decided....if you cant beat 'em join 'em, BUT by changing certain aspects of the teachings to be very contradictory and sometimes very contravertial, he effectively destroyed the christian movement from the inside out, now many of those changes are automatically associated with the teachings of Jesus, guilty by association.... we automatically throw out the entire Book because of additions that were put in with exactly that desired effect.......it wasnt a 2 year plan, it was a long term, very cunning idea, and it looks like it worked !

even with the name "religion" it should be very interesting to both non believers and believers, it is not a "believe or be condemned" type show.

please give it a look and let me know what you think......enjoy

IF you dont have time to watch the entire show, please at least watch part 2 and give your opinion... BOTH BELIEVERS AND NON BELIEVERS

It was highjacked by Saul of Tarsus the Christian persecutor whom "magically" converted to Christianity then turned it into a male-dominated hierarchical club for salvation selling opportunists to delude and control sheep.
Constantine may have removed the last resemblance to what it was meant to be.

"The unexamined life is not worth living."--Socrates"
There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true."

Most arguments rely on appeals to authority or morality. Truth and reason necessarily rely on neither.

All of Earth's religions have been hijacked, as well as the afterlife!!

Put that in your pipe and smoke it!!

.

If it seeketh, expects, or demands worship, it is not divine!!

If an entity were not judgmental and if an entity were not controlling then it would have no need to be either just nor "merciful" in the first place now would it!? - Cosmah

facepalm What's going on here over the last week? I'm more than fine w/ Christianity, but it feels like "smoke-bombs" are being thrown everywhere... I'm not sorry for highjacking your thread. This all feels so diversionary.

We can edit and re-edit any type of book we choose to anything we desire to fit our needs.

We have done this through the ages and will again as we see fit.

To the winner, go the spoils.

work RE: this is an extremely interesting concept, what if christianity was highjacked ....
Constantine made a purely political decision in making christianity the religion of the state. Purely political. That being said I would suppose the christianity was hijacked firstly by Saul of Tarsus, who took the gospels quite literally... the first error. People often talk about the unforgivable sin, the sin against the holy spirit. Would that sin be the lie that we need a literal savior because we are not deemed 'worthy' by the great unnameable? Wouldn't that diminish the holy spirit that is within you? Sinning against yourself in other words by not respecting your worth by constantly doing some lame Wayne and Garth routine.... IMO
