we are all proletariat
disclaimer: I am in no way a political scholar. I am just laying my thoughts out here from the point of a working class person trying to do the right thing.

I have been thinking about this for the last few days, or maybe a week or so. I call myself a Libertarian/Conservative but have come to realize that while I agree with these political theories, I am nothing more than a proletariat.

I listen to talk radio hear the people calling and sounding very plugged in and knowledgeable, but at the end of the day, I believe that they are proletariates as well. I mean, so many things are happening with the big G (not God) that there is no way we can get a grip on it all. On top of that, the news outlets are feeding us what they feel we either need to know, or what we can handle.

I have dreams of making it to the middle class (yes I have a plan and am working on it, though it is starting to feel like a waste of time), not just to be middle class, but to give my family a better life, but a lot of the people I know who are (actually were) middle class have begun to slide down here next to me (not that they haven't done it to themselves).

Sorry for the rant, but I just can't help thinking that siding with one of these elite political parties is going to do me or my family any good. They are all faces on TV selling mouthwash that tastes like dog poop. I don't want it, but am forced to buy green or brown doo-doo flavored mouthwash.

Please don't beat me up about politics and your beliefs. I feel you are entitled to your beliefs (whether they truly are worth anything at this point or not) and I am entitled to mine (whether they truly are worth anything at this point or not).

I could go on, but this is pretty long and random for a first post. haha

These are truly strange times for me.

RE: we are all proletariat
I dunno if you've heard this before but it goes like this:

A union guy, a tea party guy and a corporatist are sitting at a table. The waitress bring out a plate of 12 cookies. The corporatist grabs 11 cookies right away, looks to the tea party guy and says that union guy is trying to steal your cookie.

There is no left or right indeed. There are the corporations and then there are people. Corporations have bought out the government on the backs of the poor who vote for the candidates (for both parties) who pass these screwball laws and tax codes. It's f*cked up and you are not alone.
