If you can find one...

1977-78 Ford F150 4x4 with the 351 M engine and the granny gear tranny-if you can find one. I have WITNESSES that saw me pull a semi outta 2 feet of mud ( my driveway)...

With my mobile home attached to the back of it.

Lol

One tough truck...

f*ckin this! Without a doubt the most badass truck ever built.

93 or older Dodge Ram diesel.

or Imported diesel Toyota 4runner or Landcruiser.

Lots of other choices depending on your personal variables.

I rebuilt a 4runner and converted to diesel. Very happy with it.

Cheer

definately agree on the pre 93 dodge cummins. you won't be drag racing in it but the drivetrains last FOREVER. pre 83 chevy or gmc truck/blazer(jimmy) with a 4 bolt 350. if you are not an emptard then late 80s to mid 90's toyota truck or 4 runner.

If gas, hard to beat the 22r, but I'm a toyota nut anyway, outside of my 300 ford 3/4 flatbed and 95 burb 6.5 TD. That ford 300 six/manual shift is damn near indestructible. 20 mpg no matter the load. Raw HP has it's uses but economical torque is what saves the day for a shtf rig, imho.

Great suggestions all around. Plenty of reasonable choices depending on personal philosophy of use.

one that can get down backroads, lasts forever, mechanically sound, easy to work on, wont die, no modern electronics and can be shut down by tptb, please give me some ideas, years and models of trucks to look for as im looking to buy thank you

We just got a Chevy Silverado 4x4 1995 for $1500.00 Rusted spots but who cares? 5.7 v8 (350 cu in) Easy to work on, plentiful parts, new and used and scrap, lots of mechanics who know it inside and out. I had several chevys over the years, my Hondas were less prone to failure but more expensive to fix and fewer resources to get them fixed. That is why I went back to Chevy as a survival vehicle. Good Luck!

op here just reading, best advice so far, thank u
