sorry but if I was a dementia patient and Im sure Im not far from it considering I come here....I would want to get a good nights sleep.

Poor sleep adds to mental problems.

The nurse should be suing the care unit for not caring.

Ive lost mabey a yrs worth in 10 of sleep working in this industy.. Im out now but god damn.. I was a owner operator so the longer they live the more i was able to make.. but lots of those meds for dementia and a sleep aides are very toxic..

Ive had clients move in from other homes and with in a week perck up since i would go over all there meds and doses to a reasonable level or off all together and whala! you got happy respondent residents... the Lazy ass b*tch.

Here in Australia it seems it's an authorised activity :-(

Sad thing is it happens all the time except with a prescription. Drugs provided for someones own comfort are one thing, but drugging someone to allow bigger profits with less staff is disgusting. Nursing homes get paid like luxury hotels, they can easily afford even one on one staffing, but want to keep the extra $$ for themselves.
