In one of the most significant tests of autonomous systems under development by the Department of Defense, the Strategic Capabilities Office, partnering with Naval Air Systems Command, successfully demonstrated one of the world’s largest micro-drone swarms at China Lake, California. The test, conducted in October 2016 and documented on Sunday’s CBS News program “60 Minutes”, consisted of 103 Perdix drones launched from three F/A-18 Super Hornets. The micro-drones demonstrated advanced swarm behaviors such as collective decision-making, adaptive formation flying, and self-healing.

Still stuck with power problem!
With current technology only so much
power can be packed into current batteries!

So they better take their new toy and do their surveillance very f#cking fast before the batteries run out!

Wow that's pretty cool, I'd think the air speed would be too much force on the drones as they get released.

Sorry. We had a whole arsenal of this stuff...luckily most of it was out of the realm of plausibility so they can't replicate though they do try.

Good thing they didn't replicate the garbage gun otherwise people might catch on. That's from a video game load a kitchen sink in there and presto.

Hm? There are quite a few that can run up to an hour or 2 on a charge.

The drones probably use nuclear batteries.

Wait till they start carrying the chemical agents.

To argue with a man who has renounced the use and authority of reason, and whose philosophy consists in holding humanity in contempt, is like administering medicine to the dead, or endeavoring to convert an atheist by scripture. Enjoy, sir, your insensibility of feeling and reflecting. It is the prerogative of animals. Thomas Paine: American Crisis

you only get about 7minutes flight time from these things and you can swat them with a fly swatter.
