Nobody cares about this unless it's racist. Show how these are all rich white kids buying in through graft and corruption and displacing the seats of minorities and something will be done.

Americans are fine with corruption, they cower in fear of racism so you must use that.

The above is not a joke, BTW. Quite a movement up there in the Empyrean heights to stratch off the veneer of concern and go straight back to murderous paganism.

I hope they do time for this. Some kids that deserved an Ivy got hosed because they were cheated by money grubbing scum.

Prominent entertainers, business owners and college coaches are implicated in the scandal that involves boosting SAT scores and bribing college administrators, according to the criminal complaint.

"Ultimately, Huffman's daughter received a score of 1420 in the SAT, an improvement of approximately 400 points over her PSAT," the complaint reads.

Back in the stone age I listed Yale, on a lark, as one of the schools I wanted my ACT scores sent. I received an invite from them based on the results. I however came up short on one of the key qualifications ....money! Some things are more important than others.

RE: No Conscience
The Price of Admission: How America's Ruling Class Buys Its Way into Elite Colleges--and Who Gets Left Outside the Gates Paperback – September 25, 2007
by Daniel Golden (Author)
4.0 out of 5 stars 65 customer reviews

"In this explosive book, the Pulitzer Prize–winning reporter Daniel Golden exposes the corrupt admissions practices that favor the wealthy, the powerful, and the famous.

"Every spring thousands of middle-class and lower-income high-school seniors learn that they have been rejected by America’s most exclusive colleges. What they may never learn is how many candidates like themselves have been passed over in favor of wealthy white students with lesser credentials—children of alumni, big donors, or celebrities. America, the so-called land of opportunity, is rapidly becoming an aristocracy in which America’s richest families receive special access to elite higher education—enabling them to give their children even more of a head start.

Based on two years of investigative reporting and hundreds of interviews with students, parents, school administrators, and admissions personnel—some of whom risked their jobs to speak to the author—in The Price of Admission, Golden names names, along with grades and test scores. He reveals how the sons of former vice president Al Gore, one-time Hollywood power broker Michael Ovitz, and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist leapt ahead of more deserving applicants at Harvard, Brown, and Princeton. He explores favoritism at the Ivy Leagues, Duke, the University of Virginia, and Notre Dame, among other institutions. He reveals that colleges hold Asian American students to a higher standard than whites; comply with Title IX by giving scholarships to rich women in “patrician sports” like horseback riding, squash, and crew; and repay congressmen for favors by admitting their children. He also reveals that Harvard maintains a “Z-list” for well-connected but underqualified students, who are quietly admitted on the condition that they wait a year to enroll.

The Price of Admission explodes the myth of an American meritocracy—the belief that no matter what your background, if you are smart and diligent enough, you will have access to the nation’s most elite universities. It is must reading not only for parents and students with a personal stake in college admissions, but also for those disturbed by the growing divide between ordinary and privileged Americans."

It took all of 15 minutes for this to get turned into something about the current political administration. New record?
Any opportunity is a good one, yeah?

Why not?
The author wrote the book a decade ago and didn't even know who the Kushners were at the time and they weren't the only ones written about.
So it's selective with you on who gets talked about and accused of buying their kids way into prestigious universities.
Gotcha..Rofl

Cool yer Jets, Isabella. I was simply making a point about how easily any given thread evolves into a political thread these days given enough time. It wasn't an attack on you, personally (or generally).

So what?

Only Asians are allowed to cheat their way into our systems?

Actually the Asians have a lawsuite against Harvard for being looked over. That said Chinese spies abound in the universities. The MIT campus looks like china town.

The man at the center, William "Rick" Singer, will plead guilty in Boston this afternoon. Those charged include 3 people who organized the scheme, 2 SAT/ACT admins, 1 proctor, 1 college admin, 9 coaches, 33 parents. Prosecutors called it "Operation Varsity Blues."

RE: No Conscience
A fellow on the TV made a good point. He said that this would have never happened years ago because the student would have simply flunked out anyway. But because schools no longer challenge the student to be successful and pass them through anyone who can get in the front door is going to get a degree.

Did you tell your children? Or let them think they really achieved this on their own? #Scam

It’s apperant that you’ve never taken the SAT’s because you’d know the kids knew, so did the adult in the room.

Thanks for letting me know I never took the SAT's. Must have been my virtual twin. You spelled apperant incorrectly. That is apparent.

I stand corrected..
Today's indictments are a good start and the tip of the ice-berg on exposing just one way money buys admittance to universities without having a Legend connection to a university or any personal connections.
