I have 6G all figured out already.

You just disconnect the 5G transmitters from the fiber optic cable feeding it, and run that into the house.

Then if you want WIFI, use WIGIG. INDOORS.

It doesn't go through walls, so it won't bother me.

You want to watch a movie outdoors?

Download one before you go outdoors.

That sounds like quite a few steps back instead of forward. You should call it .5G instead of 6G.

The maximum speed of 1G technology is 2.4 Kbps.

The maximum speed of 2G with General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is 50 Kbps. The speed is 1 Mbps with Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE).

The maximum speed of 3G is estimated to be around 2 Mbps for non-moving devices and 384 Kbps in moving vehicles.

The max speed of a 4G network when the device is moving is 100 Mbps. The speed is 1 Gbps for low-mobility communication such as when the caller is stationary or walking.

Most current cell phone models support both 4G and 3G technologies.

The anticipated theoretical speed of 5G connections is up to 20 Gbps per second.

https://www.lifewire.com/1g-vs-2g-vs-2-5...-4g-578681

Should be hypothetical not theoretical.

Because after they connect the Internet of Things THINGS it'll be 2g speed.

chuckle

43Tbps over a single fiber: World’s fastest network would let you download a movie in 0.2 seconds

https://www.extremetech.com/computing/18...lliseconds

Sounds better than 5g to me.

Plus it doesn't give you fybromyalgia.

Unless you choose to irradiate YOURSELF with a WIGIG router.

Which is fine by me, just don't irradiate ME TOO.

How long will I be able to get the wires? Will the police pull me over for having a cable trailing out of the wall of my house and plugged in miles away on my phone? It doesn't matter how fast it is if we're trapped by that cable.

A lot of the time? No. GPS, as well as being able to find nearby gas stations through Google is a necessity.

I also like listening to Pandora. Local radio is awful in comparison.

In my town, I know enough of the street names. The streets in some town three hours away which I've never been to? Not so much. Even when I know where I'm going and how to get there I like to keep my GPS running. I have an app called Waze that's really useful. It tells you information reported by other motorists, like if there are road hazards or where the police are hiding. It's very useful.

Useful but not necessary.

As far as GPS goes, that has military applications, and I don't expect that to go away.

You don't have to have 5G for GPS. You don't need two way communication for GPS, so you aren't getting irradiated in your car by using it, like you do with a cell phone.

(You get a higher dose in cars because of the metal echo chamber and when your phone powers up to seek towers as you travel down the highway....)

Ramps up to switch towers....

An app to share road hazards is handy, but not NECESSARY.

And not worth the health costs.

I found GPS to be almost NECESSARY in Houston, when I travelled there. It was worth the investment.

I navigated by map in LA and that was just as good but the map I had was a hundred pages and cost me $35.

chuckle

Same in Seattle. I bought an expensive map.

That was before consumer GPS was available.

But before that, I delivered pizza, and we didn't have maps or GPS or cell phones.

One map on the wall of the Pizza place, you check it before you leave.

On the rare occasions I couldn't locate an address, I used a payphone to call the shop.

And 50% of the time I was called back because it was a setup for a robbery.

chuckle

Couldn't find it because the address was fake. The robbers were at the real address next to where the fake address would be.

GPS could save time with that, because it can glitch if the address doesn't exist.

But so can the computer where you take the pizza orders.

And your smartphone could simply have a MAP IN MEMORY.

You don't NEED 5G.

I'm not getting "irradiated" by my cellphone. The wavelength is well below that of even visible light, let alone ionizing radiation. Even if that was the case, I'd rather a light dose of irradiation than getting lost. If I was afraid of getting irradiated I wouldn't go out in the sunlight.

Anyway, if you are so afraid of irradiation I wouldn't go to any structure built like Grand Central Station in NYC, you probably also shouldn't eat any bananas either.
