Paying people more to stay home then they'd get if they worked is just plain stupid.
Covid is a none issue in most places.
How many people per 100,000 have it in the county where you live?
If masks work, why are you worried? Wear your mask and get a job.

masks dont prevent you getting it

Both parties are failing the Covid Acid Test.

I never applied for the $1200 check, but those who received it should have been able to stock up on PPE with it, and pay up their rent or mortgage.

The next check should go directly to those essentials.

But neither the congress not the president have done an emergency appropriation for domestic PPE manufacturing.

They still need to do that(6 billion masks, half a billion face shields for starters.)

And they should do something to insure that other bailout money is spent first on rent and mortgage payments.

A homeless crisis during a Covid pandemic PLUS a FLU PANDEMIC is what this fall and winter are shaping up to become.

This is complicated. You have a lot of things I would like to talk about.

However,

Succinctly...

USA needs to shut down for three weeks... I mean a serious shutdown.

Infections go down 95%.

Then we open up with testing and contact tracing.

We open up, and things go back to mostly normal.

How about we do none of that and just let people die? I mean seriously...who gives a flying f*#k? The vast majority of the US population doesn’t even care about their own spouses or kids when push comes to shove as evidenced by the 70% divorce rate and the continued voting for Democrats and Republicans.

Do you REALLY want to live in a country where Trumps DHS can “contact trace” you? Better hope you you don’t know someone who knows someone at a protest somewhere!! The Gestapo will toss you into one of those unmarked vans!

The biggest problem with the corona virus that I see is that it’s not 100x more contagious and 100% fatal to just send us the way of the wooly mammoth.

Democrats had the legislation ready two months ago.

Opinion.

Nope. Fact. It's been on Moscow Mitch's desk since May.

Republicans want you to die.

Choose your leaders with wisdom & forethought.

To be led by a thief is to offer up your treasures to be stolen.

To be led by a tyrant is to sell yourself & those you love into slavery.

Nah.

They shat the bed on contact tracing.

PPE first.

They can work on testing too, but waiting until you catch it to do anything is stupid.

My grocery store should be handing out Government Issue Made In America PPE.

The reason they aren't is both wings of the bird don't want to make it in the USA.

The virus is clearly out of control in the USA.

good point! i don't want to be tracked. i am staying home as much as possible.

i don't think it is so bad if I go into a store that i give an email address.

if another person gets sick, they email me and tell me that i should quarantine, i would.

Clearly.

Start with PPE
Then get the testing down to one day

Then you can try to do contact tracing.

They've known this from the start, but didn't do it because if they start making PPE here we might demand they make everything else we use here HERE.

And that would ruin 30 years of hard work converting industrial economy into Malware and Uber Eats(Service and information economy)

Wrong. Congress adding politicized spending on pet projects, unrelated to the Wuhan flu relief, is 100% of the blame.

"In late-night negotiations with congressional Democrats on Thursday, White House officials offered a short-term extension of the popular unemployment benefit paying out-of-work Americans $600 per week, a CARES Act provision that formally expires Friday. how you figure it's the republican's fault? The democrats poisoned the bill with vote harvesting. No one with the slightest bit of sense could agree to massive vote fraud like that. No one,

Actually its both the republicans and democrats that dont give a f*#k about you

Steny Hoyer already said they would agree with the republicans and dems werent $600 or bust

i play a character here, a democrat/liberal character.

also, i think that America is ruled by Oligarchs, not different than Russia.

Rich rule everything.

Rich are in lockdown right now.

They won't even leave their houses.

I wonder what they would do if we don't deliver their food to them.

How refreshingly candid of you.

And they were right to. Moscow Mitch wants to shield employers from the slightest accountability to keep their workers healthy but allow those same employers to sue their workers who want to stay healthy.

The GOP could have passed the Dems' bill back in May. They sat on it and tried to sneak poison into it. I am glad Nancy Pelosi is standing firm against their cynical and deadly game-playing.
