Whatever it is...We dont want anymore of these space immigrants here.

If nothing else they should be using the iss as an ellis island type immigration center.

Quote:An international team of researchers have announced the discovery of phosphine gas in the clouds above Venus. The toxic gas is considered a key biosignature and may indicate the presence of life high in the Venusian skies and thus should revitalize Corporate Advertising Budgets aimed at boosting The History Channel and CNN's dwindling gullible gentile viewership. In other news CNN's Science and Tech specialists said that NASA Global Inc found semen in Uranus, and not to do the research but just listen to them and their sponsors at Durex Global Inc.

It's best to reject any information from lying NASA. They cannot be trusted.

I think they are just jealous of venus because they are afraid that venus might overtake them as being the body with the most hot gas in the solar system.

Right.

We should listen to and trust anonymous cowards on a conspiracy forum.

Got it.

DOUBT IT! The surface temperature on Venus is over 400 degrees C, for reference water boils at 100 degrees C.

It would be completely inhospitable to any form of life so the gas must have formed by some other process.

Any known form of life, and we don't even know what remains to be discovered on Earth, never mind anywhere else.

In fact some of Earths extremophiles live in environments similar to what you've described.

They are full of B.S.

The gas they claim is there is only based on Spectography indications, that it resembles those properties we know of the gas here. Without direct sampling or observation, their speculations are worthless. Venus according to them also, is way too hot for life. So they have to be wrong, either way, and should just shut the hell up - either they are wrong about the temperature or wrong about the gas. Period.

Scientists should "shut the hell up" about their discoveries ? Who are you now, the Catholic church ?

Viewers in the UK can watch The Sky at Night.

Chris Lintott visits Cardiff University to interview Jane Greaves and other authors of the paper about how they made their discovery, the JCMT and something about atmospheric chemistry.

it's only hot on the surface, higher up not so much:

.....
Atmosphere
Venus' atmosphere consists mainly of carbon dioxide, with clouds of sulfuric acid droplets. The thick atmosphere traps the Sun's heat, resulting in surface temperatures higher than 880 degrees Fahrenheit (470 degrees Celsius). The atmosphere has many layers with different temperatures. At the level where the clouds are, about 30 miles up from the surface, it's about the same temperature as on the surface of the Earth.

we have organisms on earth living under very similar conditions
some even inside our digestive system as symbionts

And at 30.76 miles above Venus surface pressure = 1 atm, blimp world here we come!

RE: Major announcement says something might be living in the clouds of Venus
This is new news, but it's old news. They've known this was a possibility for a while, and we still don't have proof of any microbial life there. You see what I mean? It's just another story that's saying this from new people.

Personally, I kind of doubt that anything is there. We don't know much about how life begins, and despite a lot of speculation, there's no real proof that life transmits itself from asteroids, comets, and such. Even if life works that way, an explanation for abiogenesis is still necessary (for how life forms on comets or wherever).

If you are flying 50 km over the surface of Venus you will be experiencing 1.066 atm (earth atmospheres) and approximately 75 degrees farenheit. Anybody want to go blimp with me?
