No blindly followed strictly literal bible teachings, not here at least, open up an own thread, best in the religious forum.

RE: Did you live a former life?
The Prophet Isaiah said God had never asked for blood sacrifices, that He hated burnt offerings, yet the world is still going thru hell and high water trying to build a place where we can kill small and large animals hoping for atonement for our 'sins', when God has never asked for such a thing.

Isaiah said all that God had ever wanted was a repentant and contrite heart over our sins and errors.

No one else can 'pay' for our sins. We all have to do it ourselves, and the way to do that is feel sorrow for doing them in the first place, ask God for forgiveness, and not repeat the same ones over and over again. Though some time we do and have to ask forgiveness over and over again until we get it right.

'Judgement' isn't a place where some bearded sadist is looking for a reason to justify throwing people into a fire. It's a place of reviewing what we did in a life, and being asked how we feel about doing those things now. A place of learning, a place of correction and reflection.

Always remember too, some come back as cockroaches and flies. Life goes round and round.

Lunch was really good with a very charming woman. Jhikpghf

Creation is a far more loving and compassionate place than some would like us to believe.

I don't know about the former life thing, but as a youngster I used to experience "deja vu" occasionally.

I don't recall being anyone famous. But I am sure there are people who have been those famous people. Someone had to have been. chuckle

at any given time you can find a few hundred people who "claim" to be elvis, johnny cash, marylin monrow, etc... reincarnated....

reincarnation/past lives isn't real. Its stuff people make up in their heads.

facepalm

LOL, there are millions of people who claim to know Jesus, many even claim to be him, WTF is up with that BS?

There are always fakers, yes?

If it seeketh, expects, or demands worship, it is not divine!!

RE: Did you live a former life?
I have a very strong intuition I would say that I lived as a boy in the middle east a long time ago. Very clear memories of narrow streets, mud brick houses and tents.

Can't really explain it, but it's more than just a "hunch".

I used to think that stuff was malarkey, but lately I am not so certain. do you have any opinions on this subject?
I am more concerned about the life I will be living in the hereafter, rather than any former life. I don't believe in reincarnation anyway.

Humans do NOT come back as cockroaches EVER.

Nature is returning to equilibrium, the only thing being destroyed was never real to begin with - an artifice that has inevitably lost its hold on the hearts and minds of men. Some wait for the end, others give birth to the new.

Can you say a bit more about that?

I have added more to my post after you quoted it :)

Maybe I'll make a thread one day but I don't know if this is the right forum for this 1dunno1

It SHOULD be the right forum for it - so much better than the political melodrama - and in line with the roots of the place!

Humans do NOT come back as cockroaches EVER.

You'll have to take that up with Yogi Bhajan and others who claim we can come back as less developed species.

Where does your belief we cannot come from?

RE: Did you live a former life?
With any luck I won't have to come back. I'm pulling double duty on "do-gooding" so I can't go down under. I'm just bad enough to not be admitted upstairs. I plan to ask for a "host" position...basically stewardess to bring them out of here and drop them off.

I'm not doing this again. I'm done.

RE: Did you live a former life?
I had a dream waaay back about being in England and looking at these balloon like things tethered to the ground.

Years later I found out that was part of the air defence in WW2.

Too many weird stories like this out there to deny the possibility.

RE: Did you live a former life?
I was glad I started this thread just to see I wasn't alone in thinking things such as this, but last night I was reading The archetypes and the collective unconscious by Carl Jung and he said that feelings of reincarnation may be connected to the collective unconscious; sort of borrowing someone else's life memories. the plot thickens.
