The damage is already done.

You need to avoid them and ride it out for 5 years after the statute of limitations runs out then your credit will be fixed and you own nothing.

The. You roll the dice and play some more

I think medical bills and student loans are exempt from a statute limit.

According to Credit Karma.. What is really hurting me is the medical bills listed are Derogatory marks I have 8 of them and that is causing high impacts.... Got rid of 2 working on the next should be updated in a few weeks.

Derogatory marks are negative, long-lasting indications on your credit reports that generally mean you didn't pay back a loan as agreed. For example, a late payment or bankruptcy appears on your reports as a derogatory mark

RE: Made some payments on my medical debt
Go to Mexico, come back across the border, tell them your name is Gonzalez, and all your debts will be taken care of. You may even get a new home, new transportation, free food, and the luxury to vote in US elections. Tongue Kidding aside, it is a little stressful, trying to pay medical debts. You figure you pay into something your whole life, that medical expenses should be affordable. But, when those we elect, think we should also provide medical coverage to those who haven't paid a cent into the system, it quickly becomes unaffordable for everyone. Except, of course, for insurance companies, and Big Pharma, who have managed to have record profits year after year. 1dunno1

The main reason you should never pay a collection bill.

Your credit will not be fixed if you pay the bill.

RE: Made some payments on my medical debt
Something amazing happened when one of our brats was dosed at a reggae festival and in a comma for more than two days. Ambulance rides, ICU, doctors hospital stays and all of that. When I went to pay, it had been 'taken care of'. We never received a bill. Magical and mystical. I'd been doing some excellent work in special areas. Someone thanked me.

Why do you keep referring to your kid as your "brat"?
wtf is wrong with you?

Eat it, Pie, they're still brats. They know they are and still chuckle and laugh when I call them that.

Now that they're older, they realize the levels of asshattery they involved themselves in with the freedom their mother and I gave them. They've all admitted that. They can't even believe some of the jackassery they were up to.

chuckle

We have a lot of fun.

RE: Made some payments on my medical debt
That is how you do it dude...just plug away at it

Eventually you will get them paid down and your conscience and your soul will be cleared...

Do not use the sudden rise in credit score to go back into debt

I would suggest getting a small limit credit card and use it and pay if off every month...use it for gas and maybe coffee.

Do not max it out....

In fact, what i did when repairing my credit was...I used my low limit card every day and I paid it off every payday...I used it instead of cash. I learned however, your score will climb faster if you carry over a small balance...so i started doing that...

I would leave a few bucks on there when the end of month was coming and then pay it off the next week after the statement came out so interest was always minimal

It's not a perfect way to rebuild credit but it works.

In this day and age, your credit score will factor into your social score...if you have a crappy credit score, you won't be able to get the good jobs.

You won't be able to buy a home

you can do this... be patient...be diligent
