To add to what I said about St. John's wort, my feeling is that if he could get a handle on the depression, life/luck would probably turn around for him. [/align]

Key is feeling better for longer periods of time. Things like self-confidence and such are definitely related to mood.

listen to your inner voice, and follow your gut instinct.

you have an inner strength and remarkable tenacity use it for what you want out of this life.

consider the areas that bring joy to your life, what is it you are doing when you are most happy, and never seem to have enough time to keep pursuing it?

i.e do not fight the rapids swim with them, allow the rapids to do the heavy lifting for you.

If I could only take two supplements it would be vitamin C and NAC. Both are easy to find and cheap if you shop around. Both have a wide range of proven and well studied benefits and few side effects. Both are essential to detoxification.

NAC is showing great promise helping people with depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and even Alzheimer's. It is not only good for your brain, it also helps your liver, lungs, kidneys, heart and gut. It is a powerful antioxidant and raises glutathione levels. It may however affect bleeding, so if you take blood thinners you should discuss it with your doctor.

I've been taking it for almost a year and it has really helped my brain fog, memory and mood. It takes a couple of months before you really start to notice the improvement.

Good introduction here: https://selfhacked.com/blog/nac-top-25-s...teine-nac/

Get yourself a bunch of these and Ramen & maybe a bag of carrots + oranges.
You could get 2 weeks worth of food for like 20 dollars or less.

Start a journal write everyday, sharpen your mind it seems to me like the internet is dulling your brain, writing helps, find some books to read & re learn some stuff you learned in high school.

Work out, push up, sit ups, run.

Make a 2 month plan and after 2 months of doing this body & brain workout plus the diet you should have lost weight & you'll be able to function better socially as your mind will be sharper.

Apply for a better job working 60 hours for 400 dollars is no good.

That's my advice Wizard1

RE: good advice for GHOST OF LOP thread
2 months ago I lost my job, 30 years same company. They cut my department. Anyways I got unemployment and severance. I used the severance to pay off every single bill including credit cards mortgage and car.

Just found a new job making about 17,000 less a year butttttt with no bills it easily pays the month to month bills and still leaves plenty of extra.

Good things happen to good people, just gotta hang in there.

RE: good advice for GHOST OF LOP thread
Ok here is my input for Ghost.

1/ Do not panic, speak to whoever you can around you, including family however bad you think they might be.

2/ Helpx is a good back up for free living, no rent, free food, bills paid and some normality. Here is a link to helpx hosts in your area, use the search feature if you want to look further afield https://www.helpx.net/hostlist.asp?searc...&rev=&new=

3/ Rent your room, you'll have to sleep on the sofa but it can bring you 400 bucks a month

RE: good advice for GHOST OF LOP thread
i hope you get things together and find what you are looking for.. when i was let go many years ago, there was a flood of emotions: "betrayal, embarrassment, hostility and depression" dont think of judging these emotions as inappropriate or unexpected and dont attempt to deny them. Simply allow them to exist, let it be.. Denying grief or suppressing the emotions will keep you stuck and unable to move yourself forward. while trying to readjust your life, try a side hobby to keep busy. when i wasnt working i applied a lot of odd jobs like volunte ering at church, homeless shelter etc.

I think sugar, like most things we put in body, mind or spirit...can be addictive if not checked and balanced. Then to get deeper into the onion of food...HFCS a sub for sugar today used quite a bit...our bodies don't naturally absorb and digest except for how it gets deposited in the fat cells, where most poison sits and waits until the body has to eat it from nutritional starvation after eating for a extended period of time...franken-food that just isn't natural anymore.

Vitamin D is essential in mood related issues. Doc has me on 5000 units a day. It does help. Also with memory.
