I'm just going to say it ... pretty damn sucky writing.
6 Episodes of mostly garbage. I could have done a better job.

The heroes sitting around the fireplace and talking before the battle. Good stuff.
Sansa and Tyrion reunion. Good stuff.

BUT ...

The entire Battle of Winterfell was too damn dark.
I get having the Dothraki in the dark for the flaming swords, but afterwards ... comeon ...

And no commander in history would send CALVALRY straight into overwhelming foreign forces
like that let alone in the dead darkness etc etc.

And what about the hundred thousand widows and orphans over in ESSOS
that Daenerys just created by throwing away all the Dothraki?
They should be pissed. They are poor. No men-folk around to save them from the slavers.
And she hasn't given them a second thought or even a slight mention.
She calls herself the 'breaker of chains' and frees slaves .. but she's just an F5 Tornado with silver hair.

And hiding in a crypt full of dead people that the night king could raise?
They knew he could do that, but they hid there anyways.

Sansa went instantly from nitwit to 'the smartest person I know' and battle hard and brilliant.
A champion of the North. Oh? Since WHEN?

Jamie was on the cusp of full redemption when, inexplicably, he slid back to being bad.

And he instantly teleported 1500 miles from Kings Landing to Winterfell.

Bronn shows up, riding 1500 miles or so instantly, and threatens to kill both of his buddies and then disappears into the night.

Bran .. who we were told 'everything depends on', and who can super warg into people which is something no one else has ever been able to do ... just sits as the world falls apart around him. He does nothing with his super powers.

And Tyrion and Daenerys show up at the Kings Landing gate demanding Cersie surrender. But why would she. The dothraki and the unsullied were nearly wiped out and two dragons are dead. Tyrion looked retarded demanding surrender with his little group of soldiers at the gate.

And for that matter, Cersie should have destroyed them where they stood. The bulk of the forces were still with Jon Snow coming from the North. Easy pickings.

Only 6 episodes? They could have had lots and lots and lots more story.

I'm dreading #5 and #6. Lazy freak'n writers.

Loving it and hating it simultaneously.
I guess I'm a complicated person.
Seems to me that it all went downhill just about the time the source material ran out.

You have barely scratched the surface of the narrative disaster that is Game of Thrones, season 8.

There are literal thousands of hours of fan rage produced because of the fuckery that is Dumb and Dumber. Two hacks who purposefully trolled 35 million fans of a once ground-breaking, breath-taking example of theatre.

Through it all, it just makes NO sense. there is near zero narrative logic. Only a progressively gaudier and gaudier visuals with plenty of emotion, sure, and NO logic, or cohesion.

And Jon didn't even tell Ghost he was the goodest of bois.

Shame! Shame! Shame!

I know. He was a bad doggie daddy! Inexcusable.
Ghost got all cut up and hurt helping at the battle and then he gets dumped by his dad.

G. R Martin spent over 20 years writing the first of the story (A Song of Fire and Ice), then HBO grabs it and puts him under pressure that originally didn't exist. It doesn't surprise me that it's went down hill badly. I'm curious about what happened to the Red Ladies magic amulet. I'm expecting it to show up again.

Like Big Bang Theory where every show is them sitting around the coffee table eating carryout watching crap on TV.

At least on Seinfeld, Friends and Frasier they went to a coffee shop.

The big thing on GOT is that people spotted a coffee cup from a coffee shop.

Maybe it will end at a coffee shop with a journey song playing.

At least the old westerns on TV mixed violence and gunplay with occasionally virtue signalling some liberal issue.

Of course the last dragon will die everyone will weep but at the very very end two bright stones will be seen - two dragons eggs and everyone will marvel.

No complaints at all. Quick ending is the purpose, seems on track.

Sad Jorah is gone, I like him quite a bit.

I'm only on book 3 of the books though.

Broke my heart too when Jamie and the big boss lady went their seperate ways.

She always knew, but was bold enough to dream and ask for once.

And as expected he broke her heart.

That sh*t was sad.
