The Bozeman Trail: A Rush to Montana's Gold

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7YhMJutbQc

The Bozeman Trail was an offshoot of the Oregon Trail, a shortcut to the newly discovered gold fields of Montana Territory. Cutting through the heart of Indian country. It became a flash point for a clash of cultures that would explode into warfare, destruction and tragedy. First telecast March, 2019.

RE: The Bozeman Trail
i don't want to make light of the clash of civilizations, but from what I read the real money was made by selling food, shovels, wood, and supplies to the 'suckers' who were hunting for gold.

A trail is basically a road.

Parts of many of these old trails are still in use someplace as roads.

They may be rerouted, improved or updated.

Ah Bozeman. It was a very good place to live in the early 90's. 30,000 residents 20,000 of which were students, 14,000 of which were female students. The numbers were right and the times were oh so good. Many a good time was had skiing, hiking and at a pub called the Huafbrau.
