Coming here 27 years ago from an Ireland in recession, just after abortion referendum, I found Australia to be secular, multicultural, inclusive and progressive in terms of social justice, the environment, human rights, gender etc. I no longer think that. Australia seems liberal but individualism is massively on the rise - I find the government treatment of first nation people and refugees appalling and I see a massive growth in racism and a deeper rich/poor divide.

Such a shame!

the world is getting more and more and more crowded and people are getting fed up

The real shame is that it didn't happen sooner, then they would have kept you out.

You're from Ireland but you're upset with Australia. Kind of like the Dual Citizens in our Congress trying to change America. Pick a country. Just another smiling progressive with bad teeth.

Yeah but, you think McCain was executed. Who are you to speak smugly? Rofl You can't do that. You're not intelligent enough.

Maybe I should build a wall....North coast of Tassie..chuckle

Tassie already has a wall. It is about 10 generations of inbreeding. No one wants to go to Tassie...unless they want to marry their cousins.

The one Australian I met living here in the states said he preferred it here (well obviously, I guess). That said my SO watches some Australian TV shows and says they're very blatantly racist, especially against aboriginals. Go figure.
