NUKE BLAST PANIC Radiation leak in Russia after huge explosion at ballistic missile testing facility

The military unit where the fire occurred is located in the village of Nenoksa, near Arkhangelsk, where ballistic missiles are tested for the Russian Navy.

The blast at the military training ground near Arkhangelsk was due to a jet engine exploding, the press service of the Ministry of Defence said.

A source told RIA News in Russia: "Hospitals in the Arkhangelsk region are ready for the possible reception of the victims of the incident near Nenoksa."

Russian officials initially tried to play down the radiation leak, saying the levels were normal.

A statement from the ministry said: "During testing of a liquid jet engine an explosion and combustion of the product occurred.

"As a result of the event, six defence ministry officials and developer company representatives received injuries of varying severity. Two specialists died from their injuries.

"There have been no harmful chemicals released into the atmosphere, the radiation levels are normal."

But regional authorities later admitted there had been a "short-term" spike in radiation levels after the explosion.

The Russian city of Arkhangelsk is the north-east of Russia and was once the country's main seaport until 1703.

RE: Did Russia just have a serious nulear accident?
This is what i found out about it.

Nenoksa
64°37'60"N 39°10'60"E

The State Central Marine Test Site at Nenoksa [sometimes mis-spelled Nenoska] is an inspectable SLBM facility under the START-1 agreement. The United States and the Soviet Union signed the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) on 31 July 1991. When START entered into force on 05 December 1994, the signatories began to implement the Treaty's complex set of intrusive inspection and verification measures. As part of START's verification provisions, each signatory was required to declare all facilities related to ICBMs, submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs), and heavy bombers. The former Soviet Union (FSU) has declared over five dozen START-inspectable sites in all categories, including five SLBM facilities and six submarine facilities.

So no doubt their was nukes in the area. Did they have an accident? Cloud would have had to tavel 19 miles to the detector.

It's somewhat serious. Serious enough that earlier I checked null winds and rad charts for Ak.

Russians already tried to deflect.

Earlier, a source told TASS that the explosion and fire occurred during works on a ship in Severodvinsk.

"The causes are being investigated. At this point it is known that the incident occurred during works by civilian specialists, not the military," the source said.

They will find many armies to test them, but none to resist.
They will come in their shining ships to conquer and destroy,

Nyonoksa is about 47km (29 miles) west of Severodvinsk, which has a population of nearly 200,000 and is 1,260km from the Russian capital, Moscow.
Severodvinsk is where the detector is. Radiation levels peaked between 11:50 and 12:30 (08:50-09:30 GMT) before falling and normalising by 14:00 So cloud must have been huge.

I have the tablets. They "live" right next to me here - not even a foot away. :)

We have a bird, forgot the name, there's 2 of them I think ... that usually will do a fly over and measure rads. They wouldn't tell us though anyway so I guess my point is mute. Either way, US will know what they were playing with over there.

Would only make sense if a nuclear reactor released fission products into the environment. Maybe the story about the ship is the right one.
