Thanks TRUMP! Making America Bankrupt Again!

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/08/12/the-us-b...ter%7Cmain

That brings the fiscal year deficit through July to $866.8 billion, a little over a year and a half after the Trump administration ushered through a $1.5 trillion tax cut that the White House has vowed would pay for itself. At this point last year, the deficit was $684 billion.

There are two months left in this fiscal year, and the Treasury Department is projecting a deficit of just over $1 trillion.

Why have such a big military? So you can control resources and consum them at a massive rate....hence deficit spending more than you actually need not want.

Well it sure as sh*t isn't because they aren't collecting enough taxes.

Maybe someone should look at what it's being spent on, like illegals.
Like bullshit investigations.
Like maybe the fedgov has had to start paying back the Social Security Department for all the money they borrowed from WE THE PEOPLE!

To be fair, the increase in the deficit is pretty much on autopilot. Actually Trump has done much better than I thought he would.

George Bush doubled the national debt from around $5 trillion to $10 trillion then Obama almost doubled it again from $10 trillion to $20 trillion.

This is an exponential function, and if you go all the way back to 1933 when FDR took the dollar of the gold standard you'd notice our debt has increased around 8.5% a year every year.

If you do the math with 8.5% you find out:

(1+0.085)^8.5 = 2

The debt doubles every 8.5 years, so you see why it doubled under Bush then Obama and it probably doubled under Clinton but I've never gone back that far to calculate.

That means if Trump was following the schedule he should be deficit spending about $2.5 trillion a year and he's only doing about 1/2 that rate.

So I expect something to blow under the hood pretty soon because he hasn't been keeping up.

chuckle

Here's some numbers on tax receipts:

FY 2019 - $3.44 trillion, estimated.
FY 2018 - $3.33 trillion.
FY 2017 - $3.32 trillion.
FY 2016 - $3.27 trillion.

https://www.thebalance.com/current-u-s-f...ue-3305762

So, in general the economy isn't growing much more than around 2-3% like it was under Obama.

When they produce a GDP number they can fudge it a lot but they can't really fudge tax receipts, and they always tax the economy at about the same rate. Although Trump did give out some corporate tax breaks about a year ago.

It’s easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.
