But you know a vermin like a a possum I'd reserve for the ultra sly or a fox, a wolverine for the brutes.

I can't think of an animal for more organized structure. Maybe a wolf?

elephants have heirarchies and roles too, so, wolves aren't the only ones.

Ants, wasps and bees have the most specialized structures.

Rabies virus is endemic in raccoons.

If they wander in the back yard they will also

meet up with "wild" raccoons and skunks, opossums...

and other WARM blooded animals that carry rabies!
