No not really. Blink

Welll I have.

And I have had TOOLS that have mysteriously DISAPPEARED from my toolbox as if SOMEONE assumed I could not POSSIBLY EVEN NOTICE that they were MISSING.

Being a STUPID GIRL and all, who should NEED a toolbox anyway! Because there will always be a MAN TO DO FOR ME!!

BAD ASSUMPTION~~!!

My father was proud that I knew how to use a man's tools, and that's why I kept his toolbox as my own.

Damn....I'd take their balls for that.

Sorry I was working off a terrible metaphor with a mind ran through heavy quantities of mud. Sorry to hear that people steal literal tools that you had from your father. That's super ghey.

There is a reason women are vastly underrepresented in the fields of mechanics, construction, and maintenance.

And there is a reason why they get paid less.

There are plenty of women capable of the most difficult tasks. Most don't get any chance to find out what they are capable of.

Every time we go to the quarry for stones I am impressed by the woman who manages and runs the place, operates all the equipment there (including a giant excavator) ALL BY HERSELF!

No even when a man is perfectly capable they should likewise be secure enough to use tools to their advantage. Nothing wrong with that. Now enjoying them alone out of your own repression does sound like an issue for the men you encounter.
chuckle

Yes.

Every man I've been with knows how to change an oil filter, fix a fuse, change a spark plug. I like men to be handy and if they use one of my few tools I have. So be it. I had one who would get so pissed if I took the car in to change a light...I dunno what to do! I cant.
I expect whatever man I'm with to know how to fix sh*t.

They can learn it.
They just don't want to.

We have a machine broke down at work.
They're having a lady mechanic fix it for us.

It's prob. just a starter switch, but I'm all for her working on it.
She's a good mechanic and quite smart.

Have you ever discovered that the men in your life have frequently LIED about their mechanical abilities, and have been willing to say nearly ANYTHING in the mistaken belief that you as a WOMAN wouldn't have a f*cking CLUE anyways?

AND they BELIEVE they have gotten AWAY WITH IT???

Lmao
No..I've never let anyone do mechanical things for me, I always preferred to have them done professionally. My dad actually encouraged me to do that. He taught me things he thought every girl should know though, like changing a flat tire, how to drive a manual transmission and even double clutch and how to ride a motorcycle. He preferred to hire it done too. My husband can do all sorts of things but we usually just pay someone to do them.

When I was dating I was always skittish about becoming indebted to men. chuckle

RE: Question for women here.
60 yr old female here, began working in a hot rod speed shop as a teen, went on to eventually manage a service center in a large store chain.

Can fix anything with a Chilton's manual, hone heads, tune ups...men only pull crap on women that refuse to educate themselves.

However, I will add this...
There were days I didn't want to burn myself working on a hot engine so if possible in the right situation away from work I sometimes played the auto-ignorant woman to stay clean and unburned. LOL

I admire you, and I did do my own mechanical work for awhile. But I don't think I'm going to make it back to that place again.

Tools? We don't NEED tools!

If you want to hammer it in:
Highheels, meat pounders, just about anything (rocks even) = hammers!

If you have to screw it in:
1. Either get a ladder and four Aggies to turn that ladder while you stand on it (for lightbulbs)
or
2. Get it so drunk that it'll be unable to screw.
3. Order a screwball.

All other tools are useless too:

For lawnmowers - tie a sheep to each tree

and so on

We don't need mechanics! Those wheels roll just fine on flat tires! Bit noisy, but it works.

WEll, hope there was a giggle somewhere there. j/k post
