THE DARK TOWER - Official Trailer (HD)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjwfqXTebIY

In a world full of superheroes, there’s only one Gunslinger. From the epic best-selling novels by Stephen King

There are other worlds than these. Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, the ambitious and expansive story from one of the world’s most celebrated authors, makes its launch to the big screen. The last Gunslinger, Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), has been locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim, also known as the Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey), determined to prevent him from toppling the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together. With the fate of the worlds at stake, good and evil will collide in the ultimate battle as only Roland can defend the Tower from the Man in Black.

I can feel your paranoia through the screen.

That books as old as the hills.
I had a friend who raved about it back in the day.
I gave it a go but it was typical King.
Why use five words when fifty will do?
Lord knows I'm a Tolkien fan and even JRR uses less words than SK.

I never read the book but I saw the movie. It was okay, like 3 stars out of 5.

It’s easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.

Whatever these people want upheld, I equally want laid low. All-out thaumaturgic war, coming to a spherical madhouse near you.

All the world says my Tao is great, but seems odd, like nothing on earth.
If it was like anything else, how small it would have been from the very beginning!

I gave it a go but it was typical King.

Here's why:

http://mileswmathis.com/king.pdf
Quote:... Starting in the early 1900s, Intel kicked its chaos machine into high gear, and that could only be accomplished by a
complete takeover of literature by the Langley writing committees, who had both the
manpower and the artistic unscrupulousness to produce propaganda – and thus destroy real art
– at an unprecedented rate.

The King committee can’t help admitting as much through their own writing. You see, they love
to write about themselves. They don’t know anything else to write about, since they’re so out of
touch with reality, having lived for so long in the fake realities they create....

The movie was pretty awful, bit I've read the book series over a dozen times, they are absolutely fantastic.

Live well, whatever that means to you. Improve your quality of life, and help your fellow beings to do the same. Cocreate a beautiful reality, maybe?

I only read King that I have already read because he is Mainer-British networked (Portland: Burn-induced in one fashion or another, repeatedly, since 1775 ... older than Baltimore).
