Riften was Morrowind.

My bad. Brain fart excuse. Ignore that post.

Love Morrowind. The only proper role playing elderscrolls. I have fond memories of using a corpse as a store cupboard. Rofl

The whole Elderscroll series - I was with them from the beginning. I was also a (ahem) spark that moved them to the charts and to the top of the charts. I'll skip the long story.

I loved Baldur's Gate and all the FR games too!

As well as PnP DnD - again - I go way back to near the beginning there too but other than talking to GG and others at the top of the game ... I didn't have the same "influence" factor (as with Bethesda and Todd) as they had it all pretty well on their own.

You would simply die if you saw what all I have here. ;)

Todd, Gary Gygax, Ed Greenwood, Sid Meier, and Will Wright

I take some motivational and creative/inventive credit on the latter as well.

Our lives do make ripples, that make waves, that turn into world changing tsunamis.

Those I have spoken with in person, by phone, by email and snail mail, online and in-game even.

RE: Skyrim
The first time you enter a dungeon it locks to about 5 levels above your current level. So if you're getting your ass kicked in a dungeon, just come back after you get a few more levels and it should be more reasonable.

RE: Skyrim
Enjoy the experience.
My early advice to you is to NOT spend your points as you gain levels right away.
Give yourself time to understand what kind of character you want to develop according to your play style and then sink points towards developing that.

Get yourself a bow and arrows.

Once your're done there - get WITCHER 3.

Yes, you should have a bow for dragon slaying. Believe it or not, I haven't played Witcher yet, started watching the show yesterday and liking it so far, but I'll play that next.

RE: Skyrim
I haven't been playing this game very much because of work and other activities, will probably be playing it slowly for a long time.

But I finally figured out how to use magic.

Just started using an alchemy table.

One thing I need help with is perks when you level up, I have a few but can't seem to use them. If something says 0/5 would you need 5 perks to open that up?

Or do the perks go somewhere else?

What's your thoughts on one handed + shield use as a build?

I'm going to watch the videos too, and report back.

But it looks like I'm holding an orb and nothing happens when I try to use the sh*t.

Does it make a noise when you try to cast it and your blue bar in the bottom right blinks red for a second?

That would mean you do not have the required mana to cast the spell and you need to level up your mana more or choose a lower level spell to practice with first.

Actually I had to click and hold the ability. I felt like a dumbass, really, I mean that was giving me trouble. Seems lame now, but it gave me awhile of rage. Plus I chose a character that said they had good magic ability, so was thinking of just making an orc or something else.
